With Father’s Day this coming Sunday, I thought about sharing some of the fun ways to celebrate it with the Dads in your life. Either it is your father or the father of your child or the grandfathers in your life.
My Dad lives thousands of miles away from me; I am in the U.S. and he is in the Philippines. So a Father’s Day celebration with him since I got here in the U.S. has been on social media. Thankful for the modern technology because it sure bridges the distance. I wrote about A Father’s Day Wish last year for him.
But we have another man to celebrate over here; my husband who has been my son’s father figure ever since we got married. He has been a good Dad to him so he deserves a great Father’s Day celebration.
I know what he loves and I know what he enjoys so these things sure would make his Father’s Day a fun one.
Play Golf
One of his fave pastimes is playing golf. If he has nothing else to do on a beautiful day, you would see us both at the golf course. He’s the golfer and I am his golf cart driver as well as his cheerleader. LOL. Oh, can I also add his photographer? I love taking photos of him at the golf course as well as the nature surrounding us. It’s just beautiful out there.
He even played with my Dad who also loves playing golf when we visited my home country last year.
Catch a Ball Game
He is a huge fan of the Atlanta Braves and he’d be on cloud 9 if I take him to a ball game. He’s actually been talking about watching a game again in Atlanta this year.
Watch a Movie
We have watched a movie on a Father’s Day before and our son is talking about a good movie to watch this weekend.
Plan a Trip
A road trip somewhere or a day trip are both equally fun. He loves road trippin’ and flyin’ down the highway.
Visit a Museum
He is a history buff so visiting a museum that is full of history is so fun for him. We still have a few museums here in the city that we haven’t visited yet.
Enjoy a New Restaurant
We love food and we love to check out new restaurants that we haven’t been to before so this sure is a good way to top any celebration.
Not to forget, I always give him a little surprise on Father’s Day. You know, a little something for him to open. 🙂
How about you? How are you going to celebrate the Dads in your life?
