One more night to go and we are going to celebrate the 243rd Independence Day celebration of America. The Hubs shared tidbits about the history of Independence Day before. You can read that post here.
Asheville may be a small city, but it sure celebrates the 4th of July big time. We have enjoyed all the food and fun in downtown before and for this year, they are offering the same fun and excitement for the whole family. I am already thinking about the funnel cake. Yum!
We didn’t watch the fireworks display last year. The Hubs and I just went downtown to buy funnel cake. We’re still not sure if we’re going to watch the fiery display tomorrow. We may do the same thing last year, just go downtown to buy funnel cake. We’ll see.
But here are the fun things that you can see and do in downtown Asheville tomorrow during the 4th of July celebration.
Food & Beverage
There will be vendors selling delicious food and drinks for everyone to enjoy. I always look forward to seeing what food trucks are going to be there. And I sure can’t wait to have another bite of that delicious funnel cake.
Live Music
Pack Square Park gets packed because of live music. Bring your chairs and just hang out there and enjoy the music. I have always enjoyed listening to live music, but we don’t bring chairs. We just find us somewhere to sit.
Ultimate Air Dogs
This is such a fun show to watch for kids and adults alike. The dogs show off their skills and they are really amazing. Just get ready to get a little wet if you’re close to the pool when the dogs jump.
Fireworks Display
And of course, the finale of the celebration which is the fireworks display is always something to look forward to seeing. I’ve seen a lot of videos from last year’s fireworks display taken by individuals using their drones and they were awesome.
How are you going to celebrate the 4th of July?

Looks like a lovely 4th of July celebration! Our church hosts a huge event for the community with a live band, food trucks, lots of activities and rides for the kids and of course, a spectacular fireworks display at the end. Fingers crossed that it doesn’t rain during the event.

This would be a great time. We’ll be heading to my parents’ house for a cookout and then just heading home since our neighborhood lights up with fireworks!
Jeanette says
I would just see those dogs! That would be so much fun to see what the dogs do. I watched my TV before but I would love to see them live.

What a fun way to celebrate with family and friends. There’s nothing like a good fireworks display on a nice night.

Fireworks are good for the end of a fun and memorable Fourth of July. The funnel cake would be a welcome finale too!

I like the sense of community these events bring. Our city fireworks were all done last weekend, but I’m sure we’ll still see some of the neighbors setting off some show worthy displays this year.

Looks like a great way to ring in the fourth. We have something similar that goes down near us.

I had no idea that Asheville put on such a huge party! I live just down the road in Spartanburg! It’s so nice to meet you. Here we have Red, White & Boom and it’s basically the same huge party! Happy 4th!!!!!

My 4th will be spent cooking and sharing with family. This looks grand. I’ve always wanted to go back to Ashville.

That looks like it would be a lot of fun. I’ve never been there before. Sounds like the 4th is a lot of fun there too.

It looks like there are a lot of fun things to do for the 4th of July there. I’d love to see the ultimate air dogs one day. I hope you had a fun 4th of July!
