I remember saying in the early part of spring that I’m going to share the beauty of my iris flowers here on the blog. Then I got wound up with things, and I just remembered a few days ago that I haven’t fulfilled that mission.
I had to share them because I have already shared the other beauties of the other flowers in my garden. If my iris could talk, for sure she’d tell me how disappointed and sulky she feels because I didn’t show her beauty to the whole world like I did with her sisters which isn’t fair. LOL.
Our neighbor gave this to us. Or more or like, he told me to get some from his flower garden and so I did. I love flowers so why would I say no to his offer. Yes, he is a he and he has a green thumb. The side of the road leading to their driveway is so pretty now because of all the blooming flowers in different colors. There are purple and white butterfly bushes, sunflowers, purple hostas and some red and pink flowers.
He also has yellow iris, but I just chose to get the purple ones. I got them from his flower garden a couple of years ago and they multiplied so fast. Too bad though, their blooms disappear so quick. It feels like they only bloom for a week or two. If only they would stay and show their beauty a little more longer.
My hostas are currently blooming now. My blue, pink and white hydrangeas are in their last league of showing their blooms. And I just realized that I haven’t shared my pink and white hydrangeas here too, only the blue ones. No fair! But their pretty blooms are almost gone so I might as well do it next year.
Do you have a flower garden? What’s blooming there now?

Those fowers are beautiful. I love the summer months as the different blooms come and right now my black eyed susans are blooming.

My black eyed susans aren’t blooming yet. Soon! 🙂
So pretty! I love the color. I wish I could grow stuff. But alas, I have a black thumb.
I have a small flower garden that I started a couple of years ago. I currently have lilies blooming.
I have a large cutting garden and then just areas where flowers bloom. My iris blooms early so I only get a couple of weeks to enjoy them.
So pretty! Your neighbor sounds like a keeper, too! 🙂 My hydrangeas usually make a come back in mid-August. I hope you will be lucky and get a second bloom from them.
Oh, I did get a second bloom from my white hydrangeas last year which was a very nice surprise. First time it happened. Hope I’ll get lucky again this year. 🙂
I love Iris’. I think that your other flowers are beautiful as well. I don’t have much luck with gardening but now that we live in an apartment there just isn’t room.
Flowers don’t seem to grow in my yard, like ever, so I gave up trying to grow them. But thankfully I am able to buy them.
What gorgeous flowers! Here in CA our garden is in full bloom. Spring and summer are my favorite seasons. So much color and beauty outside.
Your Irises are just beautiful! I work in a garden center and there are so many cool varieties.
These flowers are so beautiful – I love the colors. I wish we could have had a garden this year, but it was too hard with us moving.
Those are all so pretty! I really like the colors and all the photos.
I love the looks of your iris flowers. I planted some two years ago and they still have yet to bloom. For some reason I get all of the green leaves shooting up but no flowers, it is driving my crazy! Thanks for sharing yours, at least I get to see their beauty after all of my hard work! haha
Haha. I do wonder if your irises are getting enough morning sun? They are shade plants, but they need to have some morning sun or dappled sunlight. 🙂
The reason why I love spring is because of the lovely flowers. It’s so refreshing in the eyes. Love this!
I have extremely sandy soil – Do you think they’d do fine? I think they’re beautiful as well, they look beautiful but don’t seem to do well as a cut flower but I’m ok with keeping them to the yard I suppose. My mother used to have them but she has different soil
When I planted them in what once was a bare backyard, I never even thought about the soil. LOL. Maybe just give it a try and let’s see what happens? 🙂
I really prefer the bold color of the purple irisis. Good choice! Yellow is pretty but these are stunning.
These are beautiful. Next year I should have my own yard and garden. The flowers are going to get pretty serious!
Those are so very beautiful. I love that everything is starting to bloom now. It looks so gorgeous outside with all the lovely flowers.
Those are so very pretty. I’d love to do up a garden – maybe next year!
I’ve never seen Idris flower before! So pretty! I really love the purple color.
I love iris flowers so this post makes me very happy! Thank you!
