Our weekends are almost always in the chill mode. We do all the work that needs to be done on the week days so we can just hang-out and chill on the weekend. That’s why it’s been a while since I wrote about a wrap-up here because although our weekends are a-okay for us, I didn’t think it would be as exciting for you to read as it is for me to experience the chill-out. But this weekend was exciting. If you like watching soccer, then you know what I mean.
Filipino Corn Chips
We started off the weekend by grocery shopping. Anyone else find grocery shopping fun? I know some dread it. 🙂 The hubs and I always do our grocery shopping together. He’s a total pro at grocery shopping, having done it for his mom since he was 14 when he became the man of the house when his daddy died, doing for the entire rest of her life.
We always go to the Asian store every two weeks and I was delighted to see my favorite Filipino chips there. I grew up enjoying these corn chips for snacks. Chippy is perhaps the most popular Filipino corn chips ever.
Chippys are the Filipino version of Fritos. The hubs told me about all the Fritos he eat as a kid. Fritos came into being in 1932; Chippys began in 1960. There are also versions of Fritos produced in Mexico, Canada and South Africa. “Made in America” also means “Invented in America.”
Dead to Me
As I mentioned in my June Currently post, the hubs and I started watching this series on Netflix. As much as we wanted to binge-watch it, we didn’t. We watched one episode at a time, but watched the last two episodes on Saturday because we couldn’t wait to find out the ending. And for those of you who have already watched it, well, the ending sure left us hanging. Is there a second season? I hope so!
FIFA Women’s World Cup Final
Congratulations to Team U.S.A. for being the Champions of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019! We cheered for these women during the entire tournament and was excited to cheer them on in the finals. What an exciting game it was?! Did you watch?

I did not watch the soccer game but heard that the U.S. team won. That is so exciting!

We were out of town, so we didn’t watch the soccer game. I heard the US won, and that it was a great game. I would LOVE to try these chips! Yum!
I heard that the Women’s World Cup was totally epic! I didn’t catch any of the games but for the next one, I’ll totally make an effort to do so.
Your weekend sounds a lot like ours. Hubby works every other weekend so on that one I work & the next run we run. It works out pretty good. I’m a homebody so it’s a nice mix.
I’m one of the ones who dread grocery shopping lol I love visiting the little markets and Amish stores we have around here, but regular shopping.. I hate! lol
