We have been to Atlanta, Georgia many times. Ironically, it’s the place I first set foot on American soil for it was my port of entry when the Hubs brought me here to become his better half, so I’ll always have a special and fond memory of the city.
But it’s also a city that we have visited many times above all else. One reason for that is because of the Hubs being an avid Atlanta Braves fan. We have seen the Braves play many times which was fun. But we not only enjoy watching them play, we also make sure to check other must-see attractions that Atlanta has to offer.
I have shared ‘Awesome Attractions Await You in Atlanta‘ before which has actually become one of the most popular posts here on the blog. Being the big city that it is, Atlanta sure has a lot of fun things to see and do. Today, I’m adding more attractions which we have visited and enjoyed seeing and exploring.
SunTrust Park
SunTrust Park is the new ballpark of the Atlanta Braves. It opened a couple of years ago and we were able to enjoy and explore it last year and watched the Braves play two games. There is so much to see and enjoy at SunTrust Park. You just have to visit and see it for yourself.
Atlanta Braves All Star Grill
It was like a serendipitous moment for the Hubs when he stumbled upon this restaurant. He was in Atlanta to fix a problem and was strolling in downtown when he saw this. And it sure delighted him. We had never heard of the restaurant before so he made sure to enjoy what they had to offer. Too bad I wasn’t there with him.
Finding Fun While Fixing a Problem
The Varsity
It is the world’s largest drive-in restaurant, but we missed visiting the place on our first time there because we had a lot on our plate. So on our next trip, the Hubs make sure to take us there. He had been there before and enjoyed the food.
My son also visited the Georgia Aquarium for their middle school field trip. He didn’t have photos to share though because he was so busy having too much fun while there. 🙂
Have you been to Atlanta? If so, is there any must-see attraction you want to add to the list?

We’ve always wanted to go to Atlanta! One day I hope we can make it there. We do want to try The Varsity since it always pops up on food places you need to try on the travel channel.

I hope you get to visit Atlanta soon, Amber. And make sure you go to the world’s largest drive-in restaurant. 🙂
This brings back great memories. I’m from GA and lived in Atlanta for a while – years ago. The Varsity was always a hit back then. I grew up watching the Atlanta Braves play in the old stadium and they will always be my favorite baseball team. Love this!
Thank you, Alli! Go Braves! 🙂
We are definitely going to Atlanta next summer and I am looking for things to do. When I was a kid I went to the varsity and I always thought it was such a cool place. I cannot wait to go back there with my family.
Have fun, Jeanette!
Wow you truly have featured so many awesome attractions in Atlanta. I’ve never ventured to this area in the USA but I’d love to some day. I love all that you’ve shared to do and check out in Atlanta.
Atlanta is a great city and I would love to go there and see a Braves game. The rest of the city also sounds like a lot of fun to visit and experience especially the Varsity restaurant.
I love visiting Atlanta. The Varsity is for sure a must visit restaurant!
I’m headed to Atlanta in the fall so this is super helpful. I’ve never been so I want to do all the things.

I have heard that there is a lot to do in Atlanta. I have never been, but it would be fun to visit as a family.
That sounds like a great place for us to visit and Varsity restaurant looks like a nice place to eat a delicious food.
Looks like a place to just wind around and have a mellow holiday. I heard great things about this actually. So many that I want to visit there right now.
It seems like every time we go there is so much more to explore, see and do!
It seems like there are a lot of fun sports themed places to visit in Atlanta. I don’t know that is what came to mind when I thought of Atlanta.
It has been ages and ages since I’ve been to Atlanta. I wouldn’t mind visiting again someday!
I lived in Savannah as a kid, but I don’t think I’ve been to Atlanta besides the airport. It looks like there are some fun things to do there.
Wow, it’s probably been about 10 years since I’ve been to Georgia. We went to the Aquarium when I was there last. Loved it
My husband always took a job offer in Atlanta. Sounds like an awesome city! I have to plan my trip to Atlanta soon.
