Warm summer days mean a lot of fun things to do outdoors. But unlike my tropical home country, the Philippines, which is like summertime the whole year through, you only have a few months to enjoy warm weather here in the U.S. As the cliché goes, strike while the iron is hot. So, enjoy the hot weather while it’s here – it’s not going to last!
One thing that we look forward to in the summer is grilling on our back deck. Nothing is more satisfying than enjoying the warmth of summer outside while waiting for the food to grill and smelling its aroma as it cooks.
One of our favorites to grill are cheeseburgers. For us, homemade burgers are the best because other than the fact that they are delicious and so filling, they are prepared with love and we’re sure that they are clean. We love our burgers juicy and complete with all the right ingredients like crunchy lettuce, fresh sliced tomatoes, ketchup and seasoning, and the best sharp cheddar cheese ever, Tillamook Farmstyle Thick Cut Sharp Cheddar Slices.
Tillamook’s Farmstyle Thick Cut Sharp Cheddar Cheese is farm-style, so it’s thicker; it also has the right sharpness because it has been aged nine months. As part of Tillamook’s Dairy Done Right philosophy, there are no artificial flavors, colors, or sweeteners, and no high fructose corn syrup. I’m sure you’re already wondering where you can pick up Tillamook Farmstyle Thick Cut Sharp Cheddar Cheese for you and your family, so head on over to your local Ingles (which is where I got mine). So, how do I prepare deliciously moist burgers, you may ask? Here’s the recipe for you to try.
Ingredients:
- 4 Burger Patties (you may make your own burger patties if you prefer)
- 1 0.60 oz pouch Zesty Italian Dry Salad Dressing & Recipe Mix
- 4 slices Tillamook Sharp Cheddar Cheese
- 4 Hamburger Buns
- Lettuce Leaves
- Tomatoes, sliced
- Ketchup
- Vegetable Oil
Instructions:
1. Preheat grill to medium-high.
2. Sprinkle a generous amount of Italian dry salad dressing on both sides of the burger patties.
3. Lightly brush the grill gates with vegetable oil, then grill the burger patties about 3-5 minutes on each side or until cooked.
4. Place 1 slice each of cheese on top of the patties during the last minute of cooking.
5. Remove the burgers then transfer to the serving plate.
6. Dress your burger on the bun with lettuce, 2 slices of tomatoes and ketchup.
And what is the best dessert in the summer to fill that room in your tummy after enjoying a delicious moist grilled burger? Ice cream, of course! We always scream for ice cream over here and it is absolutely our most favorite dessert of all.
Thing is, Tillamook is not only known for its high-quality cheese, but they also offer super creamy ice cream flavors. And they are all made from the highest quality ingredients that come from cows not treated with artificial growth hormones. I grabbed two flavors, Mudslide for me and the little one since we are both chocoholics, and Vanilla Bean for the Hubs because that is his favorite flavor. I also purchased these at my local Ingles and you can find a store near you by checking this link: https://clvr.li/FindTillamook
Deliciously moist grilled burgers for dinner plus ice cream for dessert equals the best of the best of summer nights.

I love a good burger, and nothing goes with a good burger like a good cheese to put on top. This sounds delicious.

I totally agree, Pam. 🙂
Cheeseburgers and ice cream in the summer… nothing beats it! I love sharp cheddar and have to try Tillamook on our burgers before summer ends. It looks so yum!
The Tillamook cheddar cheese slices are really good. Hope you get to grab some soon, Theresa. 🙂
Yum! I love burgers especially looking this good! Ice cream is the best dessert, great combo!
Looks so yummy. I have been craving a burger for so long. I need to break down and get one.
Yum, I love a homemade burger from off the grill. It’s been a while since I’ve made them at home. I’ll have to give the Italian dressing a try. I typically use a variety of seasonings when I make them.
I haven’t had Tillamook cheese or ice cream either. I’ll have to give it a try.
I love cheddar cheese on burgers! Ice cream is always the perfect ending to a great day.
I love Tillamook cheese! These look like some amazing burgers!
