Like I mentioned in my Currently post last month, September is my birth month and I celebrated my birthday a few days ago. Hubby always lets me decide where I want to eat. I couldn’t decide where. But when I mentioned to him about the dinner treat at Lobster Trap that his good friend gave us a few years ago, he asked if I wanted to eat there for my birthday this year. And of course, I said YES without second thoughts. 🙂
His friend took us to Lobster Trap a few times and one fell on my birthday and, boy, it was a seafood feast! We all love seafood and we love that place. For us, it’s the best seafood restaurant here in Asheville.
They always give you crackers and dip to enjoy while waiting for your orders. The dip is really good. I do wonder what’s in it?
So, what did we order? Here they are!
Maple Bacon Scallops
These are bacon-wrapped scallops with Maine maple syrup. They were as delicious as they looked.
Lobster Macaroni & Cheese
Our son’s favorite side dish there. I had some of this and it was yummy.
NY Strip
He ordered the side dish and he ordered this too – NY strip with grilled broccolini and demi glace. Our son sure eats a lot more than me. He is a growing boy, after all.
Sweet Tea
The Hubs’ sweet tea. “No lemon, please!” That’s what he always say. Obviously, the waiter wasn’t paying attention to the no lemon request. LOL.
Baked Oysters
Hubby’s baked oysters with Swiss chard and topped with remoulade and crispy bacon.
Grilled Lobster
Mine! 🙂 This is what I always order here. Love me some grilled lobster. So good!
Tuxedo Cake
We ordered this dessert and the waiter surprised us with this after the Hubs told him it was my birthday. I made a wish, of course and I hope that wish of mine will come true. 🙂
And that was my sumptuous birthday dinner. The Hubs really made sure I enjoyed my dinner and my birthday as a whole because he gave me wonderful surprises before we headed out to dinner too. Such a sweet human!

Happy birthday! I love seafood but don’t get to indulge very often. Lately, I’ve added shrimp to our menu since I don’t care for fish. I also love crab legs. It’s hard to find them in grocery stores but I’ll have to keep my eye out for them.
