It’s the most wonderful time of the year and that is why Christmas is my absolute favorite time of the year. Other than watching Christmas movies while enjoying a cup of hot cocoa and decking the halls with boughs of holly, we also check the happenings in our beautiful little city during the holidays.

Recently, we have walked through the North Carolina Arboretum and enjoyed the magical winter lights. We still have a few to check in the future, but here are the things that we have enjoyed before that you can check out for yourself too just in case you have plans of visiting Asheville during the Holidays.
The Omni Grove Park Inn
They have been having the Gingerbread House competition for years now. They were having it when I got here in 2010 and that was the first time my son and I actually saw those amazing gingerbread houses. Not only that, they have huge fireplaces in the lobby which is a must-see and walking through the Inn that is all decked out for Christmas was fascinating.

Biltmore Village
This historic place is filled with restaurants and retail shops including the Christmas shop. Watching the play out on the common is fun, not to mention it was free.

- The Olde World Christmas Shoppe at Historic Biltmore Village
- An Old Fashioned Dickens of a Christmas Festival
Grove Arcade
This place is also filled with retail shops and it turns into a winter wonderland during the Holidays.

The North Carolina Arboretum
It definitely looked magical out there on that chilly 40 degree night. It was freezing alright, but they have a cocoa shack and a restaurant where you can grab you a cup of hot chocolate.

Downtown
Or if you want, you can just drive around downtown and see the lights. That’s what we usually do after we have our dinner on Christmas.

Hopefully, I can add more to this list soon. I have been wanting to see Christmas at Biltmore, but I am still waiting for those free tickets. LOL.
What are the fun things that your city has to offer during the Holidays?

I’ve been wanting to go to Biltmore at Christmas for years, but haven’t made it yet. Asheville is a city that I don’t know much about even though I live pretty close. I need to explore it.

Our city has Christmas Town at Busch Gardens. We also have a Christmas light drive thru and they are a few other Christmas activities that take place.
