Over the weekend, Governor Roy Cooper ordered all K-12 public schools in North Carolina to close for a minimum of two weeks starting today because of COVID-19. I have been waiting for that and was finally relieved after learning about it. They will continue their education using the virtual day system and we are awaiting the details regarding that.
More than anything, I am happy to have our son home. Besides, he’s already a teen and knows exactly how to entertain himself so I have nothing to worry about him getting bored. 🙂
I took this photo when we went grocery shopping last week. Such a delight to see it already blooming. And I have made plans of what the next two weeks will look like around here. You have to have a plan, right? Other than sleeping in, there’s only going to be a slight change with grocery shopping, and some additional spring cleaning.
More than a Week’s Worth of Groceries
We usually do our grocery shopping weekly, but at this time we are going to shop groceries that are good for two weeks. And no, we certainly did not stock up on a truckload of toilet paper and have no plans of stocking up either. LOL.
Compared to other areas in the country, the only shelves that are almost empty in our groceries here are the toilet paper shelves and the hand sanitizer and hand soap shelves. But this is based on last week’s grocery shopping day. I’m not sure how the other shelves look like today. We’ll find out soon.
Update the Bedroom Closets
What better way to spend your time indoors than spring cleaning. I actually look forward to this time of year. We already have all the things that we needed to update both closets and we’re going to start very soon. I am so excited about this.
The Plan:
- First, we’re going to sort the things inside the closets and choose which ones we’re going to keep, the things we’re going to donate and the things we’re going to throw out.
- Second is painting the closets and I’m going to paint them white.
- Next is installing the custom closet organizer system kits.
- Lastly, organize the closet.
Eat; Sleep; Chill;…Repeat!
And in between the spring cleaning, this is what we’re going to do. Although I have to add…play and study for the little one and weekend work for the hubs and also blog work for me.
Chilling means watching our fave shows or movies and perhaps binge watch TV shows or movies on Netflix. Or add some power naps too. I have always been a homebody so this is my jam.
Look on the Brighter Side
What’s happening in the world right now is something that we all should take seriously. And the best that we can do is follow what the authorities are saying. Not all people have the option to stay home and be able to put food on the table and make ends meet, so if you have that option to stay home without problems, consider yourself blessed.
What are your plans for the next week or so?

We’ll be at home too. We’ll probably binge some shows, and my kids will have to do schoolwork online. I am still looking for toilet paper in stores, ha.

LOL. Good luck! 😂
our plan is def staying in with our kids- doing what we can with homework and school and keeping a routine/schedule for them. so far..its been a long monday
The kiddos are out of school…I really don’t have any plans for the next week or so. Taking everything day by day.
It is good to have a plan. We are going to be isolated for the next couple weeks and beyond, so it is important to have some kind of schedule or list to go on.
Enjoy the fact that he is old enough to entertain himself! I have 4 that range from 8 to 5 months, so I’m doing a lot of Pinterest looking for ideas!
COVID19 is so serious and scary but at least we already know those precautions that we need to do to fight this virus. I am praying and hoping for the healing of this world. Stay safe everyone!
You too, Gervin.
We’ll be staying at home, too! It’s better to spend your time with your family. We also did some groceries to make sure everything will be okay while at home.
These are some great ideas to get you through the next couple of weeks. We are out and about this week and awaiting on what the next steps are as we believe we will have to socially distance for 12 weeks from this weekend, so I’m trying to get things done.
We’ll be staying in and feeling grateful that we have electricity and the internet! I am so concerned for the people who already struggle to meet their bills and keep food on the table.
We are staying home for at least 2 weeks. And I feel lucky that everyone is healthy and we are together!
Gracias for being a real voice. No need to go bonkers because of the pandemic, just be grateful for what it is affording us- time with family and a chance to slow down a bit. Unless of course you have little ones. ; ) Good thing yours is a teen.
These really good plan, love that you have a list in place already. I haven’t planned anything, need to try it.
That’s a really good plan. I definitely need to relax more. And make a plan. We are still not in complete lockdown but if it comes to this I definitely need one.
That is a really good plan. My place has only 50% lockdown. I hope this situatation settles down and our lives will be on the track!
So true about it being a blessing to have this house to live in and food to eat. I have decided to not worry about getting all the kids school work done. I want to just have fun with this as much as we can. Organizing our closets sounds like an awesome idea too!
