As promised, here’s the recipe of these quick and easy pigs in a blanket. I mentioned in my Currently post on Monday that I am going to share the recipe and here it is.
This was per my son’s request. Sometimes he craves for something different and asks me to expand my menu and add new options to my recipe knowledge. And though I’d made these before, this time I did just that and expanded my recipe. He was craving for these yummy cuties and I immediately got to work creating.
I have already shared a pigs in a blanket recipe here before which I also called “Mummy” hot dogs because it was around Halloween when I made them. But this time around, I made the “Mummy” a yummy “Mummy” by adding a seasoning which I also used in many recipes like this one right here.
Ingredients:
- 1 tube crescent rolls, 8 0z.
- 1 package mini sausage, 12 oz.
- 4 tbsp. butter, melted
- Trader Joe’s Everything but the Bagel Sesame Seasoning Blend
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- On a floured surface, cut each triangle into half.
- Place one sausage in either side of the triangle and roll to the other side. Do this until everything is used.
- Place everything on a baking sheet and brush with butter.
- Sprinkle generously with the seasoning.
- Bake for 15 minutes.
- Enjoy!
It’s that easy and it’s that quick.
We had it for dinner few nights ago and my son and I even paired it with steamed rice. And though the Hubs is by no means a great lover of rice, he was absolutely ecstatic about the “pigs”. His #1 evaluation of my creation was the crescent roll wrap which he said was an outstanding choice for the flavor it added. Having eaten “pigs” over the years, he said these were the best ever! Hurrah for me! I picked the right brand. Now, if I could just get the same response for when I serve rice, which is every day. He just didn’t realize the consequences of marrying an Asian.
Do you like pigs in a blanket too?
Happy Foodie Friday, friends!

What a simple, yet tasty lunch idea. I am going to have to have my teen daughter make these for us next week since she’s been eager to keep busy learning new skills while school isn’t in session.

I haven’t made pigs in a blanket in a very long time. I’m not a huge fan of hotdogs because of the high nitrates and nitrites. I’ll make them with sausage with cheese lil smokies or just the plain lil smokies. I’ve also heard that the bagel seasoning is awesome. I need to try it.
