I am not a vegetarian, but whenever we’re in a restaurant that offers vegetarian on their menu, I always find myself browsing their vegetarian options. And more often than not, I opt to order a vegetarian dish, especially if there’s tofu in it.
I love tofu and so far, I love this tofu rice bowl from my favorite Asian restaurant here in the city, this forbidden city bowl, and this vegan tofu scramble from another popular restaurant.
After I sampled that vegan tofu scramble which I truly enjoyed because it was so good, I decided to create one myself. It’s not as elaborate as the one I had, but it’s still as good, not to mention, so quick and easy to prepare.
Here’s the recipe for you to try.
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 block firm tofu, 16 oz.
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons whole milk
Instructions:
- Over medium heat, heat olive oil in pan.
- Add the tofu and mash it with a fork.
- Cook for 4 minutes stirring frequently.
- Add salt and garlic powder then cook for another 5 minutes.
- Add the milk and stir.
- Serve with anything you desire.
I had mine with steamed rice.
Thing is, I am the only one who eats and loves tofu here in our household. Both my son and husband doesn’t like it at all. I don’t think they will even try to have a bite even if I pay them. LOL.
But my son does love this Filipino snack popularly known as Taho. It’s made of tofu, but it is sweet to the taste with all the added ingredients. I love it too and we missed having it because we couldn’t find it here in the U.S.
How about you? Do you like tofu? If you do, is there any recipe with tofu that you like? I would love to hear.
Happy Foodie Friday, friends!
Stay safe and healthy!

I admit, I haven’t really had tofu before. I will try this out though to see if I like it or not.

I love tofu, but I usually have it baked. Never tried it scrambled, but now my curiosity is piqued. I’ll save this recipe to try soon to see what I think. Thanks!

I like tofu but I haven’t been able to taste a scrambled one let alone cooked anything with one. I only buy my tofu cooked because I am afraid to try cooking with it.

I would totally try this! I grew up on tofu as I’m part Japanese. I have always loved it!

We eat a lot of tofu, it’s so versatile. I mostly buy a pressed organic tofu. It’s super solid, so I can’t scramble it, but I’m going to get some softer tofu so I can try this recipe.
