Like I mentioned on my June Currently post, I’ve been eating this Filipino cheese bread after baking it for the first time ever a few days ago.
I’ve been baking bread lately and totally enjoying the gift that my son gave me on Mother’s Day. He had no idea that by giving me this gift, he was creating an aspiring baker. 🙂
If you remember, I previously baked Pan de Coco (Coconut Bread). I also baked Sourdough Bread and even tried the No Yeast Bread.
Filipino Cheese Bread has always been one of my favorites.
I even remember a cheese bread that I loved eating when I was a little girl. But it was different from this. It has a cheese filling.
This one is different because the cheese is used as a topping in the form of a streusel.
Thing is, I was supposed to use grated cheese. But I totally forgot and I thought I was supposed to use shredded cheese.
And that’s why my cheese bread looks different from the recipe that I followed.
But it was still delicious and hubby said so too. And his taste buds confirmed his approval of my effort for he ate more than his share. LOL.
This is the recipe that I followed.
There are more Filipino breads that I am thinking about baking soon.
There’s Pandesal or Filipino Bread Rolls which is usually paired with coffee in the morning.
And then there’s Ensaymada or Filipino Sweet Brioche Rolls which we usually have for our afternoon snack.
But I think I’m going to bake Pandesal first and I’ll do it later today because I’m out of bread. I ate the last of the Filipino cheese bread earlier today.
How about you? Have you been baking bread too?
Happy Foodie Friday, friends! And have a wonderful 4th of July!
