When I was still in the Philippines, my favorite thing to buy at Dunkin’ Donuts was their munchkins. They offered them in two different boxes – little bunch and big bunch.
If I remember it right, the little bunch had two dozen munchkins in it and the big bunch had four dozen.
I haven’t checked if Dunkin’ Donuts here in the U.S. offer these munchkins. I still have to find that out after being here for almost ten years now. LOL.
Munchkins are also one of my son’s favorites and out of the blue last week, he asked for them and wanted me to make some.
My SIL in Canada baked some a few weeks ago so I asked her for the recipe and she told me about this YouTube video that she saw online.
So after checking out that video, here is the finished product.
My husband watched me the whole time I was preparing these and he was like…”This looks so complicated!” LOL! At that, I told him, “Well, honey, now you know exactly how I feel while watching you tackle all that complicated DIY stuff I choose for you to do for me.” LOL!
These sure are not as quick as baking bread which has recently been part of my learning experience, but it was fun making these choco butternut munchkins, especially after tasting them and they were delicious.
I must say though that they don’t taste the same as the ones at Dunkin’ Donuts, but I still like them. My son likes them as well.
The Dunkin’ Donuts munchkins also have assorted flavors. And this choco butternut is just one among the many flavors that they offer.
