I really had fun updating my son’s room. But with his help, of course. Now that he is already a teen, he already knows what he wants. So although I gave some suggestions, I also let him decide on what he wanted for his room.
First, I painted his room dark gray as per his request. Then he bought himself a new bed as well as a new mattress and new memory foam pillows. He used to have a twin-size daybed. Now he has a full. I browsed the web for him and gave him options and he chose the ones that he liked.
And he paid for all of those things, by the way. At 17, he is already earning him a decent amount from being an online gamer.
We got him those things from different online stores. But below are the things that we added to his room that we got from Amazon. And he also paid for all of these.
I arranged his school portraits and certificates from the awards that he got from school in a gallery before. This time I decided to display them on a photo ledge and he liked it.
This photo ledge is quality made and easy to put up.
2) Prepac Astrid 2-Drawer Nightstand, Black
The size of this nightstand is so perfect for his room because his room is not that big. We placed it on the right side of his bed. His lamp is sitting on top of it and below he stored his school things and supplies.
I had no clue about this thing until he told me he wanted it. And now his room is lit with either blue or purple. It looks fun actually. And it’s great that this comes with a remote.
This is not that big and just the perfect size for his desk.
I have always loved this brand. Just the softest and very affordable, too. It’s been the brand that we’ve been using and since he changed to a full-size bed, I got him these new sheets. I got him the white striped.
His new bed is black as well as his new nightstand. So I got him this white and black grid comforter set. His room is dark so I decided to get him a lighter shade comforter set and he liked it.
I love that his room is now updated and he is really happy with all the transformations.
Teens spend a lot of time in their rooms besides sleeping. Having good storage and accessories is always a welcome addition.
Those LED lights are so much fun! I can see my son setting those up around his computer area.

That’s pretty cool of your son to make money being an online gamer, and these things he found are awesome. I actually have a similar desk organizer just like that one and I love it.
Neat looking set up I can’t wait to re design my lil boy room one day. But for now I am just enjoying his nursery with few toys here and there 🙂
These are some wonderful items. I don’t have a teen yet, but one of my daughters will be twelve next year. She’s already getting to that stage of where she’d like a lot of these items.
Those are all great items and good for organizing and teaching her or him to keep things in order.
