Fall is in full swing and I couldn’t be any happier because it is my favorite among the four seasons.
We’ve been having temps in the 70’s lately and I just love it. It’s not too cold, and not hot at all. Just the perfect temp to go out and about and enjoy fall to the fullest. And that’s what we did yesterday, but more on that this coming Monday.
If you’ve seen my post about apple recipes to make this fall, apple cobbler was one of the desserts that I wanted to make. I’ve had apple pie before, but I have not prepared any apple dessert myself which I have been wanting to do.
I shared an apple cobbler recipe on that post, but the hubs had a better idea. And it is to use his Mom’s blackberry cobbler recipe instead and just change the blackberry to apple because it is a much easier recipe to follow with less ingredients.
So, that was what I did and the result was super delicious. I just love how the apples were still crunchy. It was so good!
Below is the recipe for you to try. I bet you’re going to love it as much as we did.
Ingredients:
- 3 red delicious apples (you can use any variety of your choice), peeled and cubed into 1/4 inch
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 stick butter, melted
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole milk
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Mix the ingredients in a bowl except for the apples.
- Pour into a 2-quart baking dish.
- Put apples on top of the mixture, do not mix.
- Bake for 1 hour or until golden brown.
- Serve hot with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
Pardon the not so pretty baking dish. It was one of my late MIL’s baking dishes and my husband has kept it for years. It is still in good condition, though it’s most likely over 60-years old, so we continue to use it and will continue to do so.
It so delicious when eaten hot out of the oven with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. Nom!
Have you baked apple cobbler yet?
Happy Foodie Friday, friends! Enjoy the weekend!

My husband and I love an apple cobbler but I am not a good baker. I think I need to follow your baking procedure to make it more delicious. I’ll save this recipe, thank you!

Yum. I haven’t made an apple cobbler at all. My grandma used to make them all the time. I liked cobbler bc it uses far less crust. The gooey middle is the best.
