As I’ve mentioned on my ‘Five Things We Did on Valentine’s Day‘ post, I’m now going to share the food that we had on Valentine’s Day. Like I said on that post, we ordered takeout and I decided that we’d have food from this famous BBQ restaurant here in the city called Moe’s Original BBQ. And here’s the food that we enjoyed on “Love Day.”
Smoked Chicken Wings

Hubby’s choice. He loves chicken wings big time.
These chicken wings were brined, hand rubbed, smoked, flash fried and tossed in their house made wing Buffalo sauce. It was served with celery and their creamy Alabama style white BBQ sauce for dipping.
Fried Okra Basket

I love okra but hadn’t had any in quite some time. Hubby loves okra too so we both decided to get this.
It was battered and fried okra tossed in their house-made rub and served with BBQ ranch for dipping.
Collard Greens

I love having vegetables with my meals. And this is one of the sides that went with the ribs that I chose for me and my son.
Ironically, Hubby was especially pleased with the choice of the fried okra and collard greens. Being the quintessential country boy raised in the high mountains of Western North Carolina, he said that this was the type of meal that he grew up on, one he hadn’t had in the longest of times.
Mac n’ Cheese

Since I had collard greens as my side, I chose this mac n’ cheese as my son’s side. He always enjoys a good mac n’ cheese.
Ribs

And here’s the ribs that I chose for me and my son. This is the large order with six ribs in it.
These ribs are St. Louis style spare rib and served with their house-made sweet and tangy BBQ sauce and pickles.
We really enjoyed this dinner. So good!
How about you? What did you eat on Valentine’s Day?
Happy Foodie Friday, folks! Enjoy the weekend!
Your fried okras looks so great. I love eating this with spicy vinegar.
Wow, everything looks really delicious! I am really sure that you and your husband had a great night eating that food.
I most like the fried okra, hehehe!
Yum this looks delicious! Food is so emotional for me, it is a way I show my love is feeding my friends and family.
These all look like delicious dishes. I haven’t made greens like that in a while and it is a quick, healthy dish.
Everything looks so good. I’ve never tried okra before. I’ve been wanting too, and after seeing this, I’ll have to.
I love a wide variety of food especially around the holidays. The wings, ribs, and fried okra look so good. I’m not a fan of collard greens though.
I’m not even hungry and now I wish that I had ribs and okra. 🙂
Love is always the best ingredient in any food! Everything is better when it’s made with love!
Smoking foods is really fun. These wings look so perfect.
