We have already embraced the fact that our special celebrations would be quarantine-style. So for Hubby’s birthday last month, as usual, we ordered takeout using our favorite food delivery app.
We’ve actually been enjoying the convenience of these takeouts. Can’t beat the fact that we’re enjoying good food in the comfort of our own home and in my super comfy pajamas. But we do love eating out. And I’m still looking forward to the return of that.
We went Japanese for his birthday. We love Japanese food over here. And if you’re curious about Hubby’s age, you can calculate it based on the number of seconds that he shared on his Currently post on Wednesday. My Dad who is a math genius, figured it out immediately. LOL.
Tempura Roll
This one had imitation crab, avocado, cucumber and tempura shrimp with spicy mayo, eel sauce and crunchy flakes.
This was hubby’s. I don’t know how they make imitation crab but this one was really delicious.
Miso Soup
Hubby loves Miso soup so he got this, too and he said it was really good. It has tofu, scallions and seaweed in a Miso broth.
Habachi Vegetarian Tofu
My choice, as always. I just love how flavorful and hearty this one is. I’ll never get tired of having this habachi vegetarian tofu.
Salad
This salad came with my habachi meal and with a dressing, of course.
Tempura Shrimp
My son’s most favorite Japanese dish. Like I’m never going to get tired of having the habachi vegetarian tofu, he’s never going to get tired of this tempura shrimp, too. And he always get 2 orders!
It is crunchy fried tempura shrimp with teriyaki sauce.
We’ve been ordering from the same Japanese restaurant now because their food is just so good. The name of the restaurant is Mr. Sushi.
It was such a fun birthday for the hubs, with good food at that!
