Hello y’all!
How’s summer in your neck of the woods? It’s been dry here. A little rain would be nice so my flowers would be happy. 🙂
Anyhoo, time for another Currently post. The hubs did his last month. Now let me share mine.
Listening…
To…Fancy Like by Walker Hayes.
I first came across this song on TikTok and it has specific dance moves that I tried to learn but decided not to continue because my son giggled while watching me. But I wasn’t planning on making a video of my dance moves and post it on TikTok. I used to be a dancer back in my elementary days and I was just trying to check if I still have the moves. LOL.
I included a snippet of the song lyrics under the video. It’s really a cute song and I love the upbeat tune.
Yeah, we fancy like Applebee’s on a date night
Got that Bourbon Street steak with the Oreo shake
Get some whipped cream on the top too
Two straws, one check, girl, I got you
Bougie like Natty in the styrofoam
Squeak-squeakin’ in the truck bed all the way home
Some Alabama-jamma, she my Dixieland delight
Ayy, that’s how we do, how we do, fancy like, oh
Watching…
Outer Banks 2 on Netflix.
The second season is finally on. We watched season one and enjoyed the series so we’ve been waiting for the new season. We already watched the first episode and tonight we’re going to watch the second episode.
Eating…
Quail eggs.
Are you familiar with NextDoor? If not, it is a hyperlocal social networking service for neighborhoods. My husband is a member and a few days ago, I saw this guy’s ad about quail eggs for sale. We always enjoyed having quail eggs back in my hometown in the Philippines, but I’d never had them since I came here to the U.S.
So, imagine my delight when I found out that somebody’s selling them here. And fresh ones at that. He has 70 quails and eggs in many varieties.
We only had the regular ones (the spotted ones) back home. We didn’t have the Celidon (the blue ones) and those small brown ones.
Enjoying…
Ube-Flavored Otap.
Here’s a snack that is a Filipino favorite. It’s an oval-shaped puff pastry cookie. I was fortunate to find a site where I could order Filipino goodies. This is the first time that I’ve tried this flavor, though. Ube or Purple Yam is a root crop and is really delicious.
Loving…
The summer.
We did a short strip to South Carolina for some important matters a couple of weeks ago and it was such a gorgeous day for a day trip. We always know we’re nearing home when the mountains rise on the horizon as we leave the flat lands. Such a beautiful sight!
Looking Forward To…
September.
Well, other than it’s the beginning of the “ber” months which also signals that Christmas is right around the corner, it’s also my birth month. Yeah! We don’t have definite plans yet on what we’re going to do, but something’s brewing inside my head. 🙂
How about you? Any Currently you want to share?

Currently…. we are on lockdown again. Ugh. This is getting to be so tiring. Anyway, on the good side of things, I was able to get my dream vacuum cleaner last week (it was on sale so I grabbed the chance). I also enrolled in an online course to learn copywriting. I am enjoying it so far. 🙂
Lynndee says
That’s good to know that you’re enjoying the online course, Eileen. Best of luck!
I haven’t been on Tiktok for a while, That’s a really nice song to dance to.
That ube flavored otap sounds so good. And I get how you craved for that egg.
I haven’t watched Outer Banks, it sounds like a great series to watch.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We just had otap last week and had quail eggs in our chopsuey dinner tonight.
I do like quail eggs but don’t eat them often enough. Sounds like you’ve been enjoying the Summer. Happy birthday a month in advance 🙂
Thank you, Rosemary!
Currently learning new ways to pamper myself and creating a routine from it , And I am definitely loving it
What a fun idea for a post. It’s really nice to see what you’re up to. I haven’t watched OuterBanks so I need to get on the ball. Summer here has been dreadfully hot. I’m ready for some cooler autumn days.
