Life is infinitely delicious indeed!
As I mentioned in my August Recap, we went to Charleston last week to celebrate my birthday and it was such a wonderful trip for us all. I’ll be sharing our escapades one by one and I’ll start with our first dinner that we had at P.F. Chang’s.
We have this restaurant here in our city and we had been there once before. I’d say, they are one of the best Asian restaurants that we’ve been to. The hotel where we stayed at is located in what is known as Town Center, Mount Pleasant, SC, and this restaurant was just a short walk away from our hotel. So, that was really perfect!
Here’s what we had.
Tempura Calamari & Vegetables
As I mentioned many times in the past, Calamari is my son’s most favorite appetizer of all time so he was excited to see it on the menu.
This one was a crisp medley of calamari, bell pepper, baby spinach and carrots with sriracha honey dipping sauce.
Orange Chicken
And I also mentioned before that my son is a huge fan of chicken. He would eat chicken every single day, and even multiple times a day. LOL. Here’s what he had.
It’s lightly battered with sweet citrus chili sauce and fresh orange slices.
Stir-Fried Eggplant & Fried Rice
I don’t think I’ve ever seen this eggplant dish on their menu before so it was what I ordered. I prefer this variety of eggplant better than the ones in the supermarkets here. And it did not disappoint.
It is Chinese eggplant with sweet chili soy glaze, green onion and garlic. The fried rice was yummy, too.
The Great Wall of Chocolate
My son wanted to have this dessert so much. He is a chocoholic like me. And look at that. It was moist and delish!
It is made of six layers of chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and topped with semi-sweet chocolate chips.
Banana Spring Rolls
And this was such a sweet surprise. Apparently, the hubs told the waiter that it was my birthday so, the waiter gave me this delicious dessert. It kind of like an American version of our Filipino Turon.
It is a crispy, deep-fried egg roll wrap with a banana inside, drizzled with caramel-vanilla and served with coconut-pineapple ice cream on the side.
Us
And here we are. As you can see, there were not many people at the restaurant that night so the social distancing was more than six feet. đŸ™‚
It was an absolute wonderful night with good food with my favorite people.
Happy Foodie Friday, friends!
