Few days ago, Hubby’s good friend gave us a treat. He now lives in the Philippines and comes to visit the U.S. from time to time. The last time he was here was in 2016. We also saw him and his wife, and actually stayed at their house in Manila when we visited the Philippines in 2017 and 2018.
This friendship is now in its seventh decade of existence, having began back in the 1st grade, making its way through high school and later jobs. And, ironically, the Hubby’s friend ended up marrying a Filipina several years ago, only to have the Hubs decide to ask me to become his wifey, cementing that friendship not only metaphorically but solidly in reality.
In 2016, he was here right on my birthday and he gave us a treat at our favorite seafood restaurant here in the city, The Lobster Trap. This time around, we went to an Italian restaurant that is located close to where we live.
Our friend had pasta and salad and sweet tea, but I didn’t take photos of his. I was too shy to do that. LOL. But here are the appetizers that we all enjoyed as well as mine and hubby’s choices.
Lemonade
They didn’t have orange juice so I went with lemonade instead.
Sweet Tea
Hubby always go for a glass of tea with sugar, and no lemon, to be exact.
Fried Mushrooms
This was one of the appetizers that our friend ordered. I love mushrooms and this was good.
Fried Mozzarella Cheese Sticks
This is one of Hubby’s favorites so he made sure to get them.
Double Hamburger with Bacon & Fries
Before the treat, Hubby has been craving for a hamburger. So imagine his delight when he saw this on the menu. And the bacon was an addition.
Grilled Chicken with Rice and Vegetables
My choice. I had to bring home the rest because it was just too much.
It was such a great time catching up with our good friend while also enjoying good food.
Happy Foodie Friday, friends!

I enjoy a glass of strawberry or raspberry lemonade on occasion. It’s my favorite if I go to Chili’s.
All of the food looks so good, especially, the plate with chicken and rice.
