Our only son is a year older and is celebrating his 19th birthday. I am just so proud of the young man that he is. He is so smart, kind and so eager to explore what’s out there. I don’t think I was brave enough to travel when I was his age.
If you remember, he went on his first ever solo trip to Richmond, Virginia in June last year to meet his gamer teammates. Then after that, he flew to Miami, Florida by himself again in December and went on a cruise to the Bahamas with his gamer buddies. Those were anxious times of my life, but I’m so glad he had such a wonderful time and made it back home safe and sound.

This is the last year of his teen years and next year is the start of his 20’s. It’s still hard to believe that he is this old already. I actually still remember celebrating his 18th birthday last year when he officially became an adult. I still don’t see him as an adult, though. He’s still like a kid to me. He will always be my baby.
Enjoying Life as A Pro-Gamer
He started being a gamer when he was in high-school. It’s been a few years now and he is still enjoying it. The good thing is, he’s also earning while having fun. He can now buy what he wants and he has actually invested on things that he needed for his room and his career. He updated his room using his own money and I couldn’t be more happy for him.
Gift Ideas
I usually ask him what he wants or needs on his birthday. Aside from having dinner at his favorite steak restaurant here in the city, he also asked for specific items. Apparently, he is still young at heart because he wanted this adorable plush toy. But he is also man enough to ask for this beautiful jewelry. I also gave him a white shirt which he prefers wearing more than anything and we’re also giving him this item to organize his soccer trophies. There’s more gift ideas here if you have a teen, too.
Birthday Wishes
Both me and my husband only wish the best for him on his 19th birthday. We hope all his aspirations and dreams in life will all come true. And we also hope that he’ll be successful and happy in the path that he chooses.
He is going to start college soon and he would also love to travel more so, with that, I’ll end this with a quote from Dr. Seuss, “You’re off to Great Places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, So… get on your way!”

How cool to be a gamer. I always told my grandson I wished he could do something he loved and make money at it like playing games. I am glad your son is able to do that. Also Happy Birthday to him. I am also glad he is able to go to college while pursuing his gaming.

What 19 year-old wouldn’t want a cruise for their birthday. A great way to celebrate your son’s bday together.
