There was no good movie to watch on cable on Saturday so I decided to check Netflix out. And to my delight, Top Gun was available! The movie is only available until May 31, though. I guess they were doing this because of the new Top Gun: Maverick movie coming out in theaters soon – which I am so looking forward to watching.
Top Gun is one of my all-time favorite movies to watch. It’s one of those movies that never get old for me. I actually lost track of how many times I’ve watched it. It’s been countless times. I’ve talked about it on my ‘These Movies Never Get Old’ post before. And with that, I thought, I haven’t included all the movies that’s on my list so I decided to write a Part 2, thus this post today.
Just like the first part, except for one movie, all of these are movies from the 80s. I was still a kid/tween/teen in the 80s but although I didn’t enjoy these movies back then compared to now, I just have so many fun memories of those years that the 80s became my most favorite era when it comes to movies and even music.
Dirty Dancing
Starring: Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey
This movie was on the CMT channel a few weeks ago so I watched it again. This dance romance movie, which was released in 1987, has one of the best soundtracks I’ve ever heard. “From Hungry Eyes” to “She’s Like the Wind” and of course, “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life.” I could listen to these songs over and over.
Footloose
Starring: Kevin Bacon
Released in 1984 this musical drama not only has a great soundtrack but has the best dance moves as well. I have always enjoyed watching people who are great dancers. Well, did I say I was a dancer in elementary? LOL. Those were the days!
The Lost Boys
Starring: Jason Patric, Corey Haim and Kiefer Sutherland
I am not into horror films but this movie is horror-comedy so I like it. This movie was released in 1987 and it was on cable yesterday so I watched it again. I haven’t watched it in a while so I was excited to see it available. Jason Patric was just so handsome in this movie!
And that’s it!
How about you? Do you have a list of movies that never get old for you?

These were all my favorite movies growing up. There are a few missing off your list that I can think of too. Ferris Bullers day off, Sixteen candles, and stand by me came to mind too.
