My son loves to cook, like me. He loves watching cooking videos on YouTube as much as I love watching cooking shows on the Food Network. Last week, after coming across a chicken recipe video on YouTube, he decided that he’d cook dinner and try the recipe that he thought was really delicious. We got all the ingredients that he needed and this was the finished product.
I was really delighted to see how he plated it. My husband and I were in the living room while he was cooking. And he told us not to go to the dining room until he was finished and all was good to go. This was the reason why. He not only cooked, he also prepared the table for us in the way he felt would accentuate his culinary efforts.
All three plates looked like this with our forks on the side of each of our plates.
There’s breaded chicken breast which was already sliced, a cup of steamed white jasmine rice and a sauce that was especially made for this chicken dish.
I forgot what he seasoned the chicken with but it was so good. The sauce was good as well. The Hubs was ecstatic about the sauce. Being a Southern boy from the mountains of Western North Carolina, sauces, as well as gravy, are an important part of the food culture. And according to the Hubs, our boy aced that part of his dish.
It looks like I have a Chef in the making here. We actually talked about him taking a culinary course in college before. He’s still undecided on what course or degree he’s going to take. But whichever path he chooses, he can guarantee that he has our 100% support all the way.
So, yeah! It was a winner winner chicken dinner indeed! Thanks to my son!
Happy Foodie Friday, friends!
