Tiramisu is one of my favorite desserts. For me, it is absolutely one of the yummiest desserts on the entire planet. So when my son said that he was going to prepare Tiramisu to share with my in-laws on Christmas Eve, I was super excited. As of late, he’s expressed an interest in learning how to cook, which is a good thing for single guys to know. If you remember, I mentioned about this on my December Currently post. And as I said there, I’m going to share more about this today.
If you’re not familiar with Tiramisu, it is a coffee-flavored Italian dessert that is made of ladyfingers that are dipped in coffee, eggs, sugar, whipping cream, mascarpone cheese and cocoa.
Following a recipe that he found online and with a little help from me, here’s the finished product. It was so good!
It was my son’s first time to prepare Tiramisu. I haven’t even tried preparing it myself before. I just always had it either at the restaurant or bought from the store.
When my son gave me the list of ingredients to purchase, I was afraid the stores were most likely out of ladyfingers and mascarpone cheese because it was the holidays, after all. Fortunately, the first store that we went to still had all the ingredients that he needed.
You couldn’t have too much cocoa, right? LOL. I was the one who dusted the top with cocoa and that is how I like it.
You can find the recipe that we followed HERE. The recipe also includes rum, but we skipped it, though the Hubs would have surely enjoyed that spicy bite. We just used vanilla instead.

This one is my DiL’s favorite dessert as well! She likes to get it from lots of different places to try and find her favorite, so far nothing has beat Publix!
