In continuation to our arrival in my hometown of GenSan, we headed straight to my sister’s house where we stayed for our entire vacation. It is the same house that I grew up in since I was in 5th grade. My sister and her family live their now with my Dad and they had it renovated. I loved all the renovations that they did. It totally looked different and they added a second floor as well.
Our breakfast was waiting when we arrived. And my sweet sister surprised us with this adorable cake. It has the Philippines flag in it as well as the North Carolina flag. The black thingy on the bottom is an airplane that is heading towards General Santos City. Isn’t she creative? It was so thoughtful of her to have thought of this cake and had it made especially for us. The flavor was carrot, by the way, and it was so good!

The three of us took our much-needed sleep after lunch and I woke up early evening to people talking in the living room, and when I came out of the bedroom, everybody was there with their smiling faces. My brother and his entire family were there including my two two-year-old great-nieces who I have just met for the first time. I have been meaning to meet them in person and they are both so adorable. They were not seen in these photo because they were in the living room showing their cutie little antics.
And these were the happenings on our first day in my hometown. It was a “welcome back” like no other. More stories to come.
