No vacation in my home country, the Philippines, is complete without a trip to the beach. This time we went to a resort that most of us had never been to before. It’s called Canada Diving and Snorkeling Resort. It’s located in a small town outside of my hometown, GenSan.
What I like about going to the beach is because of the sound of the waves. Listening to it is just relaxing for me. I also like breathing ocean air. Most of us just stayed at our cottage, ate, chit-chatted and played games. Only my son, my nephews Nikko and Matt plus his girlfriend and their daughter (my great-niece) enjoyed the water.
It was overcast that day which I think was a blessing because for sure, it would have felt so much hotter if the sun was out.

I was sitting in one of those egg chairs when I took this photo. They are playing a card game and I just watched because I didn’t want to leave my comfy seat.
At the far end was my husband talking to my brother and my brother-in-law while having some drinks.
And for the first time ever, we ate sea urchin or tuyom in Cebuano. Have you had one before? I was surprised to see the inside looking like that. Like there was too little to eat, but guess what, it was delicious. We just added vinegar then mix it in and that was it. Everybody liked it. You should give it a try if you ever come across one.

I always love going to the beach! It’s been a while, so we need to make it back there. It looks like you had a blast.
Ooh, I’m not sure I’d be brave enough to eat sea urchin … But I could definitely handle the waves and beach vibes! I’m looking forward to getting back to the ocean this summer myself – can’t wait!

The leftover exoskeletons of the sea urchins looked really neat, I’m curious about what they looked like with the meat still in it!

Those sea urchins look interesting. You are right, it looks like there is not much to eat in those. The beaches sound wonderful there.
