I really thought that we were only going to go see Taal Volcano, have lunch and then go back home. Little did I know that my husband’s best friend, Lewis, had a whole Batangas road trip in mind. He even printed a map of our itinerary.
We left the house at around 10:00 o’clock in the morning and arrived back home at around 6:00 o’clock in the evening. It was a more or less 8-hour travel which took all of us to places we’d never been to.
Our first stop was at the Bañadero Baywalk in Tanauan. This wasn’t in the itinerary, but Lewis’ niece had been there before and thought we might like to see it. Glad she did because the scenery is beautiful. Those floating rafts or cottages are for rent, but we didn’t get to try them because we were just there to check the place out and continue on our adventure.
We stopped by for lunch in Tagaytay after this and enjoyed the food. Tagaytay is located high up on the mountain so we had to drive some steep roads to get there. It belongs to the province of Cavite which is right next door to the province of Batangas.
Then off we continued with the road trip and drove all the way to the coast just to see the Pacific Ocean.
That’s my son on the left busy taking pictures, and my husband on the right busy chitchatting with his best friend.
It was so hot so I just stayed in a shade and enjoyed watching from there while taking pictures.
That’s my husband and his best friend, Lewis, enjoying their time together. They really looked like they were enjoying the heat as well.
Then off we continued with the road trip and stopped at this place in Agoncillo. I’ve already shared a few photos of this place previously in my trip to Taal Volcano post. That mountain you’re seeing is right beside the volcano.
Here’s another photo of that mountain and the lake that my son took. So dreamy!
We then stopped at this side of the road and had more photos taken with the Taal Volcano in the background. And guess what? There was an ice cream vendor parked there, too, so they enjoyed some ice cream cones to beat the heat.
What a road trip it was! Until our next trip because Lewis mentioned about driving to other parts of Batangas next time.

Photos of Taal volcano and the surrounding area never fail to amaze me. Haven’t been to this part of Batangas (I’m from Cavite) but I know this area is not elevated as the Cavite side, right?
I surely miss home. ^_^
