The MOA Eye, or Mall of Asia Eye, is the biggest and the tallest Ferris wheel in the Philippines. But guess what? I didn’t know it existed until it was right before my very eyes that afternoon. It is located at SM by the Bay Amusement Park in Pasay City and it opened in 2011.
After having coffee at the Manila Hotel, this area was our next destination. Our main reason of going there was because the hubs wanted to watch the magnificent sunset over Manila Bay – just one of those things that he read about while learning Philippine history.
But when he saw the Ferris wheel, he wanted to ride it. My son wanted to experience riding it, too. I opted not to; so, off they went!
They were high up there! See them? 🙂
The ferris wheel is 180 ft. high with 36 cabins. Each cabin is air-conditioned and can sit up to 6 people.
Now, they were way up at the topmost. They said the views from up there were amazing. I certainly had no doubt about that.
They started sitting right in front of each other at the beginning of the ride. But this was how they were seated after the journey so that my son could also see the Manila Bay sunset.
The ride lasted for about 10 minutes and the ticket cost per ride was 200.00 PHP or more or less $3.65 USD (it actually depends on the exchange rate).
They definitely enjoyed the experience of riding the MOA Eye.

This would be fun–and a little scary. I admit that I am scared of heights but I love looking out for a few.
Part of me wants to ride this. The other part might be screaming.
I always loved the Ferris wheel when I was little. The views are amazing and worth the ride.
I haven’t tried riding the SM MOA Eye yet because I’m not too fond of Ferris wheels. However, now that you’ve mentioned that it’s a great way to see the sunset, then I might just consider this on my next trip.
I think it’s wonderful that there are rides like this, it makes it so easy to see more of where you’re at when you get to the highest point and it’s not too fast!
Oh my goodness, I couldn’t handle being up that high! I’m too much of a scaredy cat. I bet the view would be all worth it.
It sounds like the MOA Eye is very high. Not sure I would have got on it either I don’t like heights. I’m sure that the views from the top must have been pretty amazing though.

This reminds me of the famous ferris wheel we have in Chicago at Navy Pier. It’s a little scary being up that high but the views are worth it.
It seems like a very unique way to experience the views, but I think I would have opted to keep my feet on the ground like you too
While I am not someone who can go one rides, this is one of those that is doable but this one can be a bit scary too looks like and exciting as well

It sounds like a fun ride; at times it would seem to be scary too. But it is a great way to view the whole city where you live.
Haven’t tried this one yet 😀 Then again, I am now fond of heights, I haven’t even tried the biggest Ferris wheel in my city…. 😀
