A chicken dish is always on our menu every week. We all love chicken over here, but it’s my son who is the number one biggest fan of chicken of any style. He would literally eat chicken every single day of the week, and any leftovers, regardless of how I prepare it.
We have favorite chicken dishes that we like to have. The Hubs greatly loves the old-time country fried chicken that his Mama cooked when he was growing up. But we are also open to trying out new chicken recipes. I came across this French onion chicken thighs recipe on TikTok and I knew I must give it a try.
I’ve had French onion soup before and I enjoyed it so I knew, I was going to enjoy this, too. Turned out, I wasn’t the only one who enjoyed it. My husband and son did fill their bellies up with glee.
I love recipes that are easy to make with very few ingredients needed. This is one of them. This is the kind of dish that I wouldn’t have second thoughts of preparing, especially during those times that I’m not up to preparing an elaborate meal. Perfect for those busy nights as well.
The recipe called for Gruyère cheese as the topping, but I forgot to buy it so I used Swiss cheese instead because that was what I had available. It was delicious, too, but I’m going to try using Gruyère next time and see the difference in taste if there’s any.
This French onion chicken thighs were really good. I think the photo doesn’t make it look as good as it tasted. But trust me, it was more delicious than it looks!
