The Blind is a quintessential story of love and redemption, telling the story of a man with a dark background of sinful living filled with drugs, alcohol and sex.
It’s based on the life of Phil Robertson who eventually gained salvation.
He began his life in rugged conditions.
After an outstanding high school career, all state in football, baseball and track, he attended Louisiana Tech on a football scholarship. There, he was starting quarterback ahead of, all people, Terry Bradshaw, the future NFL Hall of Fame quarterback. But after two years, he gave it up because it got in the way of his hunting. And he was actually approached to play professionally, but turned it down due to his love of hunting. As he later put it, “Terry went for the bucks, and I chased after the ducks.”
Later on he did receive a degree in physical education as well as a masters in education, which he used to do teaching for a few years, followed by becoming a commercial fisherman and then a bartender, at the time he was having marital problems.
He went on to great success by creating the Duck Commander Company. It was his love of duck hunting and dissatisfaction with available duck calls that inspired the creation of that company. That later led to the reality TV show, Duck Dynasty, which ran for five years.
I watched the advance screening of this film with my husband and I must say, this is great film to watch with your spouse or with your friends.

I always enjoy a nice feel good story where the person turns their life around for the good. I’ll have to watch this.
My husband has watched the show many times. He is excited to see the movie.
This sounds like a very good story. It is great that the person was able to turn his or her life around. I am wondering if there is a book that goes along with the movie. I would love to read it.
