Invisible candle, that is. And he had cookies instead of cake, so there’s that.
And this is the story of the hubs’ birthday. We celebrated him recently and he couldn’t be more thankful for another year.
A Birthday Lunch Treat
My sister-in-law together with her son, granddaughter and great-grandson treated us to lunch at this restaurant that offers buffet as well as other choices on their menu. The restaurant has this cabin like decor which is nice. We’ve been to this restaurant once before and it is located close to home which is always a plus.
This was my plate. I ordered their flounder fillet with sweet potato fries and fried okra as sides. The birthday boy had their sandwich, but I didn’t get to take a photo because he already grabbed it even before I could take my cellphone. LOL.
My sister-in-law baked these cookies for him. She knew he loves those chocolate chip cookies, especially the ones that his late Mom baked. And as per him, he liked those freshly baked cookies that are hot off the oven.
Birthday Presents
Our son got him gifts which he was delighted to receive. He opened the box when we got home and immediately set one of the gifts up. He still has one gift coming which is the gift from me. It didn’t get here in time but it is better late than never.
We were supposed to go out for dinner and would have had Italian food as opposed to Mexican food last year, but lunch filled us both up and I had leftovers from the lunch treat so, we decided to just stay home and relax.
It was a great day celebrating the hubs. He was blessed with another year and here’s to more birthdays for him, or an extra candle on his cookies! At that, the hubs has each year as of late been documenting the number of seconds he has lived, which has now reached well over 7 billion; imagine that many candles! Only my hubby.
