I love a good Chow Mein. And I can have any protein in it like shrimp, pork or beef. But I decided to have chicken for this one.
Honestly, I usually just buy Chow Mein from our favorite Chinese restaurant nearby. But after coming across a video on TikTok, I decided to make one myself. With some tweaking, here’s the result. Yum!

Does anyone else have a craving for ramen noodles sometimes? I do, so instead of using yakisoba noodles for this, I used ramen noodles. And it wasn’t bad at all.

Instead of buying a whole head of cabbage, I bought a bag of cole slaw so I didn’t have to chop. I have always preferred the tri-color coleslaw. But you can use whatever you prefer.
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon avocado oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces
- 1 bag (16 oz) cole slaw
- 10 pieces baby carrots, sliced
- 2 green onions, sliced (separate white and green)
- 2 packs of Ramen noodles, seasonings discarded
- Salt and pepper
Sauce:
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1-1/2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 2 tablespoons ginger, minced
Instructions:
- Prepare noodles according to package instructions. Set aside.
- Mix the sauce ingredients in a small bowl. Set aside.
- On medium-high heat, heat oil in pan.
- Add garlic and cook for 2 minutes or until golden brown.
- Add chicken, season with salt and pepper and stir until cooked.
- Add cabbage, carrots and the whites of the onion and stir until cabbage is wilted.
- Add the noodles and sauce.
- Cook for 2 minutes or until the sauce has thickened.
- Sprinkle with the greens of the onion.
- Serve and enjoy!

It was so good and I can’t wait to have it again!
How about you? Do you like Chow Mein, too?

I honestly haven’t had chow mein for the longest time, I already forgot how it should taste. lol. Yours looks so good, but being on a lowcarb way of eating, I’d definitely look for an alternative, thanks for the recipe!
The vibrant colors of the stir-fried chicken and vegetables in this chow mein recipe are making my mouth water. The combination of savory soy sauce and tender noodles looks absolutely delicious.
