I had Philly cheesesteak in a hoagie roll before and really enjoyed it. I didn’t have it in Philly, though. Hopefully someday I get to really try the OG.

Then I came across a video of Philly cheesesteak bowls on TikTok. The idea that I can have it with rice was exciting for me so I prepared one without hesitation. I love rice and I almost always have it in every meal – that’s just how we do it back in my home county. Like I always tell the hubs…rice is life!

You can use any kind of beef of your liking for this dish. I used rib-eye steak and just cut it into bite-size pieces.

I like that this dish is so easy to make and with just a few ingredients, too. I did tweak the recipe that I saw on TikTok a little bit and here’s how I prepared it.

Ingredients:

• 1 pound beef, cut into bite-size pieces (I used rib-eye steak)
• 8 oz baby bella mushrooms, sliced
• 4 slices provolone cheese
• 1 medium-size red onion, sliced
• 1 green bell pepper, sliced
• 1/2 cup beef broth
• 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
• salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

1. In medium heat, brown beef in a skillet then add beef broth and worcestershire sauce. Cook for at least 5 minutes.
2. Add the vegetables, toss and cook until they are softened. Season with salt and pepper if you like.
3. Place the cheese on top of the mixture and cover until cheese is melted.
4. Toss once cheese is already melted and serve.

This Philly cheesesteak was really good and these pictures are making me hungry. I may have to prepare it next week again.
