Arlington National Cemetery which I talked about here on the blog previously has many famous people buried there including the 35th U.S. President, John F. Kennedy. It was the first site that we made sure to check as we walked through the cemetery.

President John F. Kennedy gravesite is located downhill from Arlington House or the Robert E. Lee National Memorial which you can see on the top of the hill.
Lit by Mrs. Kennedy, at the center of the gravesite is a five-foot circular stone containing the “Eternal Flame,” a gas-powered flame which burns 365 days a year as an enduring reminder of Kennedy’s life and legacy.

As we know, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963 at the age of 46 in Dallas, Texas.
Former first lady Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis was laid to rest next to President Kennedy as well as their two infant children.

The gravesite has views of Washington, D.C.

These quotes which were engraved on this stone were part of President John F. Kennedy’s Inaugural Address.
“And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you–ask what you can do for your country.“
“My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man.“
As a young boy, my husband fell in love with President Kennedy. He was especially fascinated with Kennedy’s wartime heroics on PT-109, and he’s always wanted to visit this gravesite.
It felt fascinating and moving at the same time to be able to see this famous landmark in person. It was definitely a sight to behold.
This is fascinating…JFK was such a legend and a loss to everyone…I would love to visit his gravesite one day and I will…
I have seen so many documentaries and read so much about John F Kennedy but I never knew where his grave was
