It was another year of celebrating our wedding anniversary or the day our journey began. And for the fifth year in a row, we had dinner at our favorite Italian restaurant here in the city. This was the restaurant where we had our dinner after our wedding 14 years ago – our first dinner as husband and wife.
And as usual, I ordered my favorite pasta and our favorite appetizer. Now if only our son was here because calamari is his favorite appetizer of all time.

I only had a glass of water to drink while the hubs ordered him a cup of coffee. He also ordered a glass of Pinot Noir to have with his dish which I forgot to take a photo of; it’s his favorite wine.
Cream

The cream to his coffee.

This calamari fritti did not disappoint as always. And that sauce was so creamy and delicious.
Gnocchi

The hubs’ plate. This was their special for the night. I had a bite and it was good with a smoked taste to it.

My all-time favorite at the restaurant. I will never get tired of this dish. And the serving was so big, I had to bring home most of it. I had it for lunch and dinner the following day.
It is always fun and exciting to celebrate a special occasion like this with good food and of course, good company. And aside from a lovely card with a sweet note in it, the hubs also surprised me with a personalized gold necklace. It has our names on it as well as our birth stones. It is beautiful!
Happy Foodie Friday, friends!
That sounds like a lovely evening. What a way to celebrate! And the necklace was a nice touch.
