Other than giving me sweet Mother’s Day surprises, we always go out for a dinner on Mother’s Day as well. And when the hubs asked me where I wanted to eat, I just told him I wanted to eat Asian food. So yep, it was an Asian dinner for this Asian Mom. 🙂
We went to this Asian restaurant called Soba Sushi and Noodles in the nearby town of Weaverville which is about 10 miles from Asheville. It was our first time there and I must say, they did not disappoint.
I had this Stir-fried Mixed Vegetables and Tofu. The vegetables were Napa cabbage, snow peas, broccoli and celery.
Here’s our son’s favorite appetizer, Fried Calamari. The hubs ordered this as well. It’s tempura fried squid served with sweet chili sauce.
Then for our son’s entree, he chose this Seafood Eggplant. It is tempura fried eggplant stuffed with shrimp and crab sauteed in a garlic sauce. He is very picky when it comes to vegetables so it was such a delight for me when he chose this entree.
Both mine and my son’s entrees came with white rice. But we could choose either that or brown rice or fried rice for an additional fee. We both chose fried rice.
There’s the boy enjoying his Fried Calamari. The Fried Calamari that Hubby ordered for himself filled him up so he didn’t order an entree. I think he ruined his dinner after having snacked a few minutes before we left for dinner.
As for the drinks, they don’t serve our favorite drinks like orange juice and tea so we opted for a glass of lemon water instead.
I would certainly go back to that Asian restaurant because the food was not only great, the service was fast and excellent too.

Now this looks like an absolutely delicious dinner idea! I could most definitely look to tuck into it myself. Though I have to admit I’ve not tried that much Asian food.

I love Asian food but my husband isn’t a huge fan. There are a few things that he will eat though.
My family made me dinner and picked up a frozen yogurt cake. It was delicious.

Such a great way to celebrate the Mother’s Day is to go eat in the restaurant so that our mothers don’t need to cook for us and those foods really look so good and tasty and I am sure every mother will definitely love it.
