We were not lucky on our first try in having our dinner at The Lady & Sons the Friday that we arrived in Savannah, Georgia, because the waiting list was just too long. So the next day, Saturday, we made sure to go earlier and luckily, the waiting time was only 15 minutes. Yay!
Putting the restaurant on our must-visit place was on our to-do list because my SIL certainly raved about it. Also, I’ve seen some of Paula Deen’s shows and knowing that she is a great chef, I knew it was something that we should not miss.
The Retail Store
This is located right next door to the restaurant and you can enjoy yourself browsing, if not shopping, while waiting for your table. They also have a sitting area in between the restaurant and the retail store if you prefer to just sit down while waiting.
If you’ve seen Paula Deen’s show, she is so famous for saying “ya’ll” most of the time. It is a southern thing.
I got me a little souvenir from the store. Would you like to guess what’s in the bag? 🙂
The Restaurant
We were seated at the 3rd floor. You got it right. I mean, that is the first time that we have eaten in a restaurant with three stories. When the lady told us where to go, we actually had to ask again if she said 3rd floor. LOL. That was funny.
There were photos of Paula Deen and her family in the area where we were seated.
The menu. I didn’t get to have a good photo of the restaurant from the outside, but this is what it looks like.
The Food
So good. So delish. So yummy. What else?
If you are following me on Instagram, you would have seen this bread already. And like I said, it was so good I wanted to ask for more, but I didn’t want to ruin my dinner.
Fried Shrimp
The little one’s choice. Those are fried crisp and golden jumbo shrimp with wedge fries, cole slaw, zesty cocktail sauce and homemade tartar sauce as sides.
Parmesan-Crusted Catfish
Hubby’s choice. Breaded crispy fried catfish with panko crumbs and parmesan cheese served with cheesy stone-ground grits and cole slaw.
Bobby’s Salmon
I love salmon. So I chose this fresh cold-water salmon seasoned with the Deen brothers very own “Hook, Line, and Sinker” seasoning blend and topped with their special mustard dill sauce and also with fresh wilted spinach, cherry tomatoes and tri-colored couscous. I loved everything in this dish.
They also have a buffet that offers a variety of dishes. You can choose to get your food at the buffet if you don’t like what’s on the menu.
Have you been to Savannah? If not yet, make sure you visit Paula Deen’s restaurant and sample the food. I think it’s the best food there is in the South.

That woman can cook. Her recipes are always amazing. If I lived nearby, I’d just eat there ever day.

I didn’t know Paula Deen had a restaurant, but it would be fun to go to a restaurant of a well known chef. Sounds like you had a great meal!

I love the “Happiness is homemade” sign. I love the whole concept. I would really enjoy checking out that shop. I would probably buy way too much.
