It was exactly 8 years ago today when me and my son first witnessed this amazing display of creativity at one of the best hotels here in Asheville, the Grove Park Inn. You can see our first visit here. This is an annual competition at the hotel and participants come from all across the country to showcase their skills and talents.
The gingerbread houses shown here were taken in 2013 when we visited the hotel to see all the amazing creations for the second time around. Just like the first time, I was in awe of the creativity, skill and talent shown in those gingerbread houses. The imagination in making these pieces of art were simply remarkable.
I realized I haven’t shared about this yet so I’m sharing it today, although it has been five years since we saw it. I hope to take a look at these beauties this year again. We’ll see if our schedule will allow.
How adorable are these? I mean, can you even?!
Look at this display. And they are all edible.
They have the gingerbread house display at the Grove Park Inn now until early January. Seeing the gingerbread houses is totally free, but you have to pay for parking.
Also, these are not the only things that you get to enjoy while at the inn. The entire place is beautifully decorated for Christmas. There are a bunch of Christmas trees around, each decorated differently. It definitely looks so festive and magical inside.
You don’t want to miss the huge fireplaces they have in the lobby as well. It’s really cozy sitting there in front of the fireplace with a hot cocoa in hand.
Seeing these gingerbread houses is a must if you visit Asheville during the holidays. Some of the gingerbread houses are also displayed at the Grove Arcade in downtown Asheville if that’s more convenient for you.
Happy Friday, folks!

This is so fun. I love to learn about why traditions happen.
