Sorry, Arnold, but I couldn’t help but paraphrase your famous line from “The Terminator” for it has been quite some time since I visited with y’all here; two months and two days, to be precise. But when one is employed, one is tied to a schedule which limits free-time availability. However, I’ve had to take a leave from my employment to do a bit of healing up and find myself free to return here and give my wifey Lynndee a little break.
So on my return, what else could I speak of other than my great love of sports. Since my last time here, my Carolina Tar Heels have bowed out of the March Madness of the NCAA basketball tournament. They really had a great team this year and I had high hopes of them repeating their National Championship of 2017. But, unfortunately, they ran out of gas and it’s once again “wait till next year”.
Of course, all of you who follow us here know of my love of baseball and my favorite team, the Atlanta Braves. The new season has finally started, and all of us Braves’ fans have great hopes we can repeat last year’s success of winning the division and making it to the playoffs again. Twenty-seven games into the season, their record is 13 wins and 14 losses, only 2 1/2 games out of first place. So with 135 more games to go, they’ve got plenty of time to right the ship.
I have, however, just discovered a new sports love, that of hockey. We actually have a professional hockey team here in North Carolina, the Carolina Hurricanes, located in Raleigh. They moved here in 1997, formerly being the Hartford Whalers, and won the NHL’s Stanley Cup in 2006. And just last week they defeated last year’s champion Washington Capitals in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs, an overtime victory in game seven, moving them on to round two, in which they’ve won the first two games against the New York Islanders on the road. I’ve actually watched the last two games against the Caps and the first two against the islanders. Funny thing is, the first and last hockey games I’d ever watched was the U.S. Olympic hockey team’s “miracle on ice” victory over the Soviet Union followed by their gold medal winning performance against Finland in 1980.
So I now have another diversion to keep me busy and tie the TV up. But even more important is my love of golf, not watching, but playing. And the weather is now here for that love so I can only hope that I will find the time to fulfill that relationship. And as for my blog writing career, maybe I’ll see y’all here again real soon. So, until next time, see ya, bye ya!

I usually leave the sports watching to my husband but his love of the Mets has rubbed off on all of us. Baseball is one sport I understand and will be ready when the Braves come to town.

I don’t know much about hockey or golf. I don’t think I’d be any good playing them.
