What a heartwarming letter this is from one of my son’s teachers in his sophomore year. It sure melted my heart. I mean, if this doesn’t melt your heart, I don’t know what would. 🙂
I came across this letter while going through my son’s papers from the previous school year. I was taking all the papers out one by one from his backpack to clean it up and prepare it for the new school year when I saw this.
My son is very quiet around people especially those that he doesn’t know well yet. He is so like me. My boss actually described me as bashful in my first few weeks in this telecommunications company because I was so quiet. But once I already know you and am at ease with you, let me tell you, I can talk. 🙂
Hooded dynamo. My son wore his hoodie in his sophomore year to hide his long straight hair. He liked his long hair, but he was so shy to show it. It actually looked fine to me, but that was the first time he grew his hair that long – it was shoulder length – and he didn’t want to cut it at that time. But we finally had it cut before the school started this year.
A genius. It looks like he got that part from his grandpa – my Dad. My Dad didn’t finish college, but he has created, invented, fabricated and or built things that only a genius person could do. People who knew my Dad could attest to that, but it would be a long story for me to tell here.
My son has always been on the Honor Roll since he started schooling in Montessori School in the Philippines and continue to fly high when he continued his schooling here in the U.S. He was even inducted into the Junior Beta Club in 6th Grade.
I am just so proud of my unico hijo (only son) and that’s why I couldn’t help, but share this heartwarming letter from his sweet teacher. Such a gem of a teacher. I hope all teachers are like her.

My kids are different students. My eldest is the shyest one. Teachers said it seemed as though she was not paying attention and was quiet, but she was focusing in her own way. Teachers realized this when they saw her work. It is good when teachers let kids know how great they are.

Teachers who can see past a childs outer appearance and into who they truly are is special in so many ways! What a great way for her to show him that she saw him for who he is and what he is capable of and not only seeing him, but letting him know it, is amazing!
Amen to that, Kelli! 🙂
