The Holidays are upon us and the Hubs and I usually do our shopping early and don’t wait until the last minute for many reasons. One is to avoid mile long lines at the stores. We do a lot of shopping online, but there are some things that we prefer to buy at the store.
We went shopping on Tuesday, but before we did it, we had a lunch date first. I’d heard of this restaurant before because it is one of the most popular restaurants here in Asheville, but the one that I know of is located downtown, on Wall Street. I’ve been wanting to sample their food so it was a delight to me when they opened a branch near our home.
Early Girl Eatery
I really find the name of the restaurant cute and this branch of their restaurant is called Early Girl Eatery NORTH since it’s in the north part of the city. They serve farm-to-table food and serve breakfast all day. They have a lot of options and offer unique dishes.
This place used to be a different restaurant and we actually ate there before to celebrate Hubby’s birthday. We enjoyed that dinner because the food was good so it was a surprise to us to find that they had closed.
Coffee & Orange Juice
Starting off with coffee and cream for the Hubs and orange juice for me.
It was already lunch time but the Hubs and I decided to choose from their breakfast menu.
Southern Breakfast
Hubby would eat bacon every single day if he could, but I don’t allow him. Everything in moderation, right?
He had this Southern Breakfast and it had two cage-free eggs served with hand-cut home fries and wheat toast and bacon strips.
Vegan Tofu Scramble
I have already shared this photo on Instagram so you may have seen this already if you’ve been following me there. Like I mentioned there, I’m not vegan, but I love tofu and I have never tried this kind of dish before so I chose it. It was so good.
It had marinated organic tofu with red onions, mushrooms, tomato, spinach and served with vegan toast.
I would love to go back to that restaurant again and try a different dish every time.
Happy Food Trip Friday y’all and enjoy your weekend!
