Hello November! While I feel like the days are flying by, the hubs feels like they’ve been dragging. How about you? Is it flying by or dragging for you?
It’s officially the holidays, I think, since Halloween is over. Christmas is my favorite time of the year. There’s just something magical about it. Don’t you think so, too? And I can’t wait to decorate.
Well, before I get carried away some more about the holidays, let’s head on and recap the previous month. Take a look at what you might have missed.
Always Say Yes to New Adventures
Before fall had even begun, the hubs and I planned to go leaf peeping and I’m so glad it materialized. But other than enjoying the beauty of the fall foliage, we decided to visit a place that we’d never been to before, and that’s Mount Mitchell State Park.
It was such a fun adventure on a glorious fall day. It couldn’t get any better than that.
Read more about our trip to Mount Mitchell State Park as well as the beautiful scenic drive that we took on the Blue Ridge Parkway on the links below each photo.

Family & Fun
Halloween is over and we celebrated it indoors and watched The Haunting of Bly Manor. It was spooky alright and I decided that we’re not going to watch it at nighttime, only daytime. LOL.
My son has already graduated trick-or-treating, but he sure had a blast trick-or-treating before and those are some of our fun Halloween memories.
Hubby wrote a Currently post where he shared about what he was currently enjoying from books, to shows, etc. He also talked about one of his favorite actors, Paul Newman.

And a month is not complete without sharing food. I shared a bread recipe as well as an apple dessert. And of course, not to forget those adorable spooky treats. Have you tried any of them?
There you have it, the entire month of October in one post. October was a great month for us despite the pandemic still going on. Now I’m so looking forward to what November brings.

I love adventures. WE head into the woods every weekend, well until Winter hits, and then we won’t have that luxury anymore. I love getting outside with my hubs and the kiddos when they come along (they’re tween/teens).

How interesting that Mount Mitchell is about the same elevation I live at, in the valley over here in the Rocky Mountains.
And I love, love, love all that buffalo plaid!

Love that you’re getting out and enjoying life!!
Back at the beginning of the year, I decided this would be the year to just go for it. Go on adventures, say yes, stop letting life hold us back and letting life control us. I did okay for a little while. We got a vehicle (haha kinda had to BUT now we have a dependable one to go places), we attended our daughter’s biggest cheer competition ever NCA, we made plans… then COVID took control 🙁 My daughter and I have rarely left the house since March. She’s just too extremely high risk. I’ll make little plans like the pumpkin patch early during the week while most are at work/school (she’s virtual school) then the weather decides to turn freezing and rain nonstop. Our trips, all canceled. Plan, all put on hold. COVID shut us all down the week of her birthday. I had to cancel her party the day before it was to happen. I kept hoping to reschedule, I finally gave up that idea a few weeks ago (for the actual party). But I am absolutely determined to go all out for Christmas. I’m going to get this house decorated, I’m going to make fun new decor, I’m going big and making it the absolute best possible!
My husband loves Paul Newman as well!
