From the eyes of my 12-year-old son, that is.
All the 6th graders in their school had their first field trip and went to Chattanooga, Tennessee for two days last week and my son was fortunate to join such awesome trip which is not only enjoyable for them but educational as well.
I let him take my point and shoot camera so all the photos that you’re seeing here were taken by him.
All parents were given a schedule of their trip so we basically knew where they were going but since I’ve never been to Chattanooga, I had no idea what my son was about to experience and see. I was anxious about the trip because that was the first time that he’s been away from me for two days. The good thing was, their school posted updates on their Facebook page during the trip so I was made at ease the entire time he was gone.
Their schedule was packed with must-see places and below were the places they’ve visited and saw.
The Lost Sea
They had a guided tour of an underground cave and an underground lake. The Lost Sea is actually located at Sweetwater, Tennessee, near Chattanooga.
Tennessee Aquarium
They were given an interactive tour of the aquarium and my son was more than fascinated because it was his first time to see penguins. How adorable!
Ruby Falls
They had a guided tour of the waterfall. My son’s photo of the falls was blurry so I shared the photos of the rock formations that he saw while going to the falls instead. The formations were amazing, as per him.
Rock City
They had an interactive tour of a place that offers fascinating rock formations and breathtaking views. How gorgeous is that?!
Enchanted Trail is also located in Rock City. How brilliant are those minds who have thought of such a beautiful place for kids to explore?!
Incline Railway
They had a narrated tour of the railway which my son said was exciting but he was nervous while going up. I can’t blame him. Just look how steep that is!
And the gorgeous view from the top!
He had a blast! That was what he said and I certainly had no doubt about it because aside from saying that, he’s told us several times too that he wants to go back. Well, since I haven’t been there yet and seeing how gorgeous the place is, we might do it in the future. 😉

I have been to Tennessee, but I haven’t been to Chattanooga. Reminds me of the song. Chattanooga Choo Choo.
I don’t know that song so I asked the hubs. He knew it too. 🙂
Ruby Falls is amazing. We went there a few years ago, and it can’t begin to say how beautiful it was.

I’ve only been to Chattanooga, Tennessee twice and I loved it both times and wondered what it would be like to live there. We went to Rock City and it was so amazing and different than anything we’d ever seen. We also rode the incline up the mountain. This post and your photos sure brings back great memories.
Good to know, Terri. 🙂
