Previously, I shared how we celebrated our 11th year wedding anniversary. I only gave you a sneak peek of our dinner date on that post, but as I promised, I am going to share it today for my Foodie Friday post. So here you go!
Vinnie’s Neighborhood Italian
As the title says, we revisited the site our first dinner date as a united couple. This restaurant is the one we consider the best Italian restaurant here in the city and this was where the hubs took me after our wedding and had our first dinner date as man and wife. I shared a photo of that first dinner HERE.
We actually planned to do this on our 10th wedding anniversary last year, but the pandemic hindered us from doing so. And it was exciting to finally do it this year and the restaurant was packed.
Our first dinner date there as a couple was simple. We only ordered an entrée for each of us. This time, we really indulged. But we didn’t stuff all of these dishes in our belly. Our bellies can only take much. We brought home some leftovers and enjoyed them the next day.
Bread with Olive Oil & Basil Dip
Our waitress who was so fun to talk to, by the way, served us this bread and dip to enjoy while waiting for our orders.
Calamari Fritti
Then we had this for appetizer. We also ordered a to-go for our son because this is his favorite of all time.
Italian Bitter Greens
After the waitress, Courtney told us the salad choices, the hubs retorted that he had no idea what kale was. LOL. So I told the waitress that I’ll have salad so the hubs would get acquainted with it. And we all laughed. That was funny!
This salad had tuscan kale, radicchio, red onion, radish, blood orange vinaigrette and pecorino romano.
Pan-Seared Sea Scallops
On to the main dish and this was what the hubs ordered.
It is linguini with scallops. fresh tomatoes, basil, garlic, capers, red onion, and white wine butter sauce.
Linquini & Clams
I ordered this as a takeout a few months ago and I want it again. It is that good!
It is linguini with middle neck clams, whole and chopped that was served with red sauce.
Tiramisu
And for the dessert, we had this. It literally melted in my mouth. Super delish!
Pineapple Juice
They didn’t have orange juice so I had this instead. The hubs had a glass of Irish whiskey on the rocks and he was also given red and white wine samples. Good thing he didn’t get drunk. LOL.
It was wonderful to finally be able to have dinner out again and we sure enjoyed our food. What a night!
It was indeed a great wedding anniversary celebration for us. Until next time! 🙂
