Trader Joe’s is one of my favorite supermarkets to go to. They just have unique products that you will not find anywhere else. I have my favorites to grab whenever we’re there, but I also like trying out new products that I think may be good – some I just come across at the store and some that were recommended by fellow bloggers or influencers .

One time I saw from a video online that they have Ube Ice Cream. They say that they run out so quick which apparently was true because I never had luck in seeing it at the store until one day a few weeks ago.

Back home, ube, or purple yam is one of my favorite flavors. In my home country, the Philippines, you can find different ube-flavored goodies from cakes to pastries to ice cream and candies and some other desserts.

Ube Ice Cream is one of my absolute favorite desserts. So imagine my delight when I finally saw it available at the store.

What is Ube?

Ube is a tuberous root vegetable that is a staple crop in the Philippines. It is often confused with taro root but it belongs to the yam family.

I will have to go back to Trader Joe’s and see if they have Ube Ice Cream again. I actually didn’t only buy Ube Ice Cream during this latest trip to Trader Joe’s. I also bought and tried new products but I totally forgot to take photos of them. I bought Korean ribs which was delicious. I also tried their beef and broccoli. Next time I’ll make sure not to forget to take photos of the products that we’ve tried and never shared here before.
