Without a doubt, there is food that looks visually unappetizing but is very delicious. That’s why I don’t judge the food based on how it looks, so to speak.
This was my son’s experience, though. He went out with his friends a few days ago and they went to eat at this cafe for the first time. They serve breakfast and lunch and they are one of the popular restaurants here in the city.
The name of the dish that he ordered is The Filthy Animal. What a fun way to name a dish. But the fact that he loves bacon and chicken which were some of the ingredients on this dish, it was what he ordered.
The Filthy Animal
My son took this picture because he really wanted to show me what he had. And he literally said that it doesn’t look appealing at all. And it was huge, too. He was like, “How am I going to eat this? ” LOL. But as soon as he started having a bite, he knew he ordered the right one. It was delicious, as per him.
The dish consisted of buttermilk biscuit, fried chicken, pimento cheese, bacon, scrambled eggs and was smothered in gravy. That was gravy on top that you’re seeing.
I myself enjoy a good gravy. But I never had it in my life until I got here in the U.S. And it was at our first Thanksgiving here that I was introduced to it for the first time. It is a staple at every Thanksgiving table here, apparently. Or is it only in the Southern part of the U.S. that gravy is a must during Thanksgiving?
Have you had this kind of dish before? I haven’t so I may have to order this and see for myself how delicious this Filthy Animal is.
Happy Foodie Friday, friends!

I’ve had foods that don’t always look appetizing but are so good. You never know unless you actually try it. That’s why I usually give things a try first before saying anything. I think this actually sounds really good though.

Sometimes the best tasting foods are the foods that look not all that great. This would be eaten in one sitting with my family!

While I admit, it is a bit strange looking. It sounds like it would be delicious!

By looking at it alone, I probably wouldn’t touch it. But after reading the ingredients , it sounds good minus the pimiento cheese. I’d rather have a shredded cheddar or something like it.
