I previously shared about our hike to the summit of Max Patch, but before we went hiking there, we did some munching and lunching first. Lewis took us to this restaurant that looked like it’s located in the middle of nowhere. I think it’s the only restaurant in that area and there’s nothing else you could find for miles. But I may be wrong.
The name of the restaurant is Trust General Store and Cafe. Its facade really wowed me. It had that southern feel to it with its big front porch and a bunch of rocking chairs lined up on it. I’ll be sharing more about it on my next post. For now, let us drool and get hungry from all the food we had. It’s Foodie Friday after all!
Such beautiful flowers. I think those are lilies?
There’s their menu with all the info you would need if you want to visit the place as well.
They had this map of the area on the restaurant’s wall which was really cool.
Classic Drip Coffee and Cream
It was already early afternoon when we got there but the hubs still wanted his cup of Joe. Isn’t the container for the cream adorable? Cutie little cow.
I just paired my meal with a glass of lemon water.
Hand Cut French Fries
We all shared this little bucket of french fries.
Meatloaf Sandwich
This was what I ordered. It had wild mushrooms and crispy bacon, and it was served on grilled Texas toast with lettuce, onion, tomato and mayo. It was actually the first time I’ve had a meatloaf sandwich and it was so good. But it was so big I had to ask for a to-go box and took the rest home to my son.
This was what Lewis ordered as well.
Cheeseburger
The hubs’ order. It is beef blend that is topped with white American cheese and served with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles and their special sauce. The hubs muttered that this was delicious.
We really enjoyed our lunch there. There were a couple of customers at the restaurant and some motorcycle riders outside when we arrived, but they left even before we started eating so we had the restaurant all to ourselves.
We then checked their general store after eating and Lewis got me a little something. I’ll give you more details next week.
Happy Foodie Friday, friends!
