Goodbye, August! Hello, September!
It’s the start of the “ber” months and I couldn’t be more excited. There are just so many fun and exciting things to look forward to in the “ber” months. First off, this is my birthday month. Then comes Fall which is my favorite season. Then comes Halloween (can’t wait to watch Hocus Pocus again), then comes Thanksgiving, and finally, my favorite time of the year which is Christmas.
But before I get carried away some more, let’s head on to last month’s recap. Here’s August for you. Check on what you might have missed.
A Day with A Friend
My husband’s best friend, Lewis who now resides in the Philippines, paid us a visit in June, and took us on a day trip filled with fun, excitement and good food. First, he took us road trippin’ around Madison County in North Carolina and parts of Tennessee. We then stopped for lunch and he got me a trinket at a General Store. Then we headed to Max Patch Mountain and hiked to its summit. And we ended the day with a dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant here in the city.

Jollibee is the Philippines’ version of McDonald’s. I came across this Garlic Pepper Beef recipe on TikTok and I knew I had to give it a try. It was so good!
I linked the TikTok video at the bottom of the post. Check it out if you want to try the recipe yourself.

Pastimes
I always share what I’m currently enjoying on my monthly Currently post. Got to share the books that I am hooked to as well. I haven’t read in a long time and now I’m back at it because of Colleen Hoover.
That’s a wrap!
How was August for you? Here’s to a wonderful September!

First and foremost, Happy (almost) Birthday. Second, glad you had fun in the Philippines. The food looks amazing. Personally, my august wasn’t the best. However, I’m praying that September will be better. Thanks for sharing!

Munching before a hike is always a good thing. You sure did enjoy so delicious food.
Sounds like you had a pretty good August. Mine wasn’t to bad, except for how hot it was. All that food sure looks amazing too.
I love road trips and hiking! Love reading about all the great stuff you did!

I love the warm seasons so I am a little bit sad they summer is almost over, but I hope to have a productive and beautiful autumn!
August looks like it was an eventful and tasty month, looking forward to the ‘bers too! I bet in colder climates they could pass as the “BRRR” months, lol!
Yep! We get to have some brrr days here. Lol.
Is that a new dish from Jollibee? I will look for it when I get to Jobee Milan. Enjoy your September, it’s getting cold in here! 🙂
Yes, it is from Jollibee. So good! Our mornings are starting to get chilly here, too.
August flew by so quickly. I worked a bunch and didn’t do much either. It was my birthday month so I did go out to eat at Red Robin. They gave me a few birthday burger with a purchase. I got the guacamole burger and it was amazing. My son got the mushroom burger and he said it was good too.
Belated Happy Birthday, Christy! I hope it was a good one. The guacamole burger sounds delish!
