In my “Take the Road Less Traveled” post on Monday, I shared with y’all about our fun road trip to Georgia. And as I mentioned in that post, today I’m going to talk about the dinner that the hubs and I had that day we arrived.
This restaurant is located right next door to the hotel so we just walked over. The hotel is actually surrounded with a lot of different kinds of restaurants, but this was the only one where we didn’t have to cross the highway. I also liked what I saw when I checked their menu. The name of the restaurant is McAlister’s Deli. We used to have this at the mall here in the city, but they permanently closed last year.
Wildberry Lemonade
This is their old-fashioned lemonade flavored with a blend of blackberry, strawberry, and raspberry puree. It was so refreshing and delicious.
Southwest Chicken & Avocado Salad
This salad had seasoned grilled chicken, roasted corn, poblano and black bean relish, red onion, tomato, cheddar-jack, blue corn tortilla strips, and avocado on mixed greens. The serving was huge and I only got to eat like a quarter of it.
Fountain Drink
This is the hubs’ favorite soda. Like me, he didn’t get to drink it all because they served it in a large tumbler. Our tummies can only hold a little bit. LOL.
Black Angus Roast Beef Spud
It was the hubs’ first time to have tried this spud. It had black Angus roast beef, red onions, cheddar-jack, and included au jus, the French culinary term meaning “with juice” which you can see below.
Au Jus
Their food is really good. I enjoyed my salad and the hubs enjoyed his spud. And those ice-cold drinks were perfect to beat the heat on that toasty summer day in Georgia.
Happy Foodie Friday, friends!

All the food looks so delicious! I love salads but then I came across your pic of the potato with the au jus and now I need that in my life!

I love McCalisters. The salad you got is my favorite too. I haven’t had it in a while though. Maybe I’ll have to go this week.
