I can’t believe I am doing my fourth recap for the year. Like, really? What can I say. Time does fly when we’re having fun. Don’t you agree? But I am loving this recap thing that I’m doing here on the blog. It’s always been fun for me to look back to what transpired throughout the whole month. Also, some of you are new here so it would be nice to introduce to you the things that you might have found interesting but missed.
So, here you go…
Travel
We live in Western North Carolina and I showed you the Five Must-See Places in North Carolina. Those are not the only must-see places around here but those are the places that I’ve been to and would recommend. Those places have one thing in common too: they all have been film locations.
I also took you to the amazing Biltmore Estate where Biltmore, America’s Largest Home is located. That visit to the Biltmore House will always be special and memorable for us because it was our first wedding anniversary.
Food
And speaking of that first wedding anniversary at Biltmore, we had lunch at the Bistro that day which is located inside the Biltmore Estate. And that wasn’t the only celebration that I talked about last month. We also had a special dinner at Red Lobster for my son’s 12th birthday in late March.
I’ve shared two of my favorite Filipino recipes that are not only simple and easy to make, healthy and budget friendly too. Have you tried the Arroz Caldo and Ginisang Monggo yet?
Family
Having a very active kiddo makes us busy parents. If only we also had his energy. 😉 But we’re more than happy to support him every step of the way. Hubby told you about him volunteering at a local food Bank – the MANNA Food Bank. He is such a busy 6th grader and I think it’s best to reward him with a memorable birthday. Something that is fun yet won’t hurt our pockets. I told you about it on Fun and Affordable Way to Celebrate a Tween’s Birthday.
Well, if the kiddo’s always busy, the hubs has something to get busy about too. Now that baseball season is here, you won’t see him anywhere else in the evening other than being glued in his throne in front of the TV watching his favorite Atlanta Braves play. He exclaimed about his love for the Braves in his post, My Time of Year: Atlanta Braves Baseball is Back! I can’t blame him. I love the Braves too!
Books
And the Braves are not the only one that keeps the hubs glued. There is never a day that passes by without a book in his hands. He calls himself a “bookaholic” and I think that says it all. He actually created that word to describe himself. 😉 For this month he talked about Carl Sagan and All the President’s Men. Both books are about science and history respectively. And the latter with a political shenagigans involved.
Lastly, I shared a giveaway for the first time here. It’s a special Mother’s Day Giveaway with special prizes for all the moms . Check it out if you haven’t joined yet.
And that’s about it. Until next month. 😉

I’ve never heard of Biltmore, but it looks beautiful
Biltmore is absolutely beautiful. I hope you get to see it someday. 🙂
Good times and great recap. I think my month consisted of two sick kids, a overflowing toilet, a kid with a broken hand and somewhere in there I got two whole naps!
Uh-oh! Looks like you had one heck of a month, but at least you got two whole naps. Those were something to be delighted about, right? 😉
